@T-Mom: She sleeps in her pack n play beside the bed. She's still in her Woombie too. We plan to put the crib in there soon to get her used to it before moving her to her room. And I tried leaving her arms free last night but she wasn't having it. So I'm going to try that again after Thanksgiving.

@mandb36: sounds like you and LO are making great progress! Where does she sleep at night? Does she sleep in the crib? My LO slept in the crib much better when he was able to roll himself over and sleep on his front.

@T-Mom: Another update! She's taking the bottle better everyday (sometimes too well as she prefers it over me). I get a little sad when she takes the bottle over me but she still prefers only me at night and in the morning which is what we were working towards.

I do feel to an extent like I'm giving up by trying to already cut her down to a few nursing sessions a day but we're taking it slowly and DH and I decided that me being happier (by being a little more free to move about/go places) will be more beneficial. Plus, she'll still get around three or four nursing sessions a day for the time being after we get her to take the bottle exclusively during the day.

She had a breakthrough the other day where she was able to take the bottle, play for a bit, and go to sleep without nursing once in that timespan!

Also, naps are becoming more regular and easier. There are still times when we go just past the 1.5-2 hour mark and she takes a while to get down but she's doing better. Most naps are still on me but for this morning's nap, I let her sleep on me for 30 minutes then put her in the swing and she went back to sleep.

Progress is slow but steady. I feel so much more confident that Thanksgiving won't consist of me sitting in the back room nursing with her (MIL was able to put her down for a nap when she visited and offered to do so if I became overwhelmed). She's also becoming more tolerant of noises while napping. I think by the beginning of the year we should be in a good place, especially with us talking to her pediatrician about how we think she's ready for solids next week!

I just wanted to update again. Yesterday she had three naps at about an hour each. They were all while laying on people but she only nursed to sleep for one. She also took 6 oz from a bottle Saturday which is a big improvement. Tomorrow I may get her to sleep in my arms then lay her down. Yay for progress!

@T-Mom: Yesterday was bad because we had issues with the smoke detectors that woke her up in the middle of the night and made her more tired throughout the day to the point that she just wouldn't nap. But today has been good although I'm still working on getting her to eat for 30 minutes or less every couple of hours. She definitely likes the pacifier though!

And she didn't nurse to sleep for the last two. LO woke up at 7 this morning which was earlier than normal. She went back to sleep from 8-9. When she started to get tired, it was going downhill again so I decided to put her in the carrier and walk around with her. After about 10 minutes, she got really sleepy so I took her out and gave her the pacifier while stroking her hair. After 5 minutes, she was out.

Then after she woke up and ate, I decided to take her for a walk since it's nice out. When we got back she decided she was hungry again so I fed her then she got sleepy. I gave her the pacifier again and she fell asleep after 10 minutes. Today has been the most encouraging day I've had in a while in terms of getting her to nap and be on a better schedule. And not having to nurse to sleep makes it even better!

I just had to share because I'm so excited about how today turned out!
