@miss-spunkin: same exact experience for us- he would go to bed at 11pm if we let him! We usually aim for him going to bed around 9 so my husband can spend a little time with him after work, but he sleeps until 6-7ish in the morning.

Our key also was to start the bedtime routine earlier and the rest just seems to come together.

My son was the same until the last two weeks (he's 8 weeks right now) I became intentional on having him go to bed at 8pm. I started making sure he was awake from 6pm on, then around 7:30 I start his routine - change into his nighttime diaper, pajamas, and nurse. then we lay in my bed together until he falls asleep. Some nights it works, some nights it doesn't, but then he sleeps until 8:30am, give or take.

But I think he would have continued on the 11pm bedtime if I hadn't been very intentional about making his bedtime earlier.

From what I remember, at 7 weeks it's still pretty normal for a baby to wake up/go to bed later. After the first few months they tend to adjust to the earlier bedtime on their own.

I know most recommend a very gradual shift (put to bed 15 mins earlier each night until you're at your desired bedtime time) so you could try that -- I'm just not sure how it would go with a baby that young.

I'm jealous! We work so hard to get my lo to stay up later so we can sleep in a little.

No tips, but my LO was the same. She slept late and woke up late. Eventually she adjusted on her own and now sleeps from 7-7 roughly.

At 7 weeks our son seems to have settled into a schedule... the only problem is that he's going to sleep for the night really late and then sleeping late in the morning...
Any tips on how to shift his sleep schedule without ending up with an overtired baby who is miserable?
I'm happy to roll with it and am not looking to be rigid with his schedule, but would love him to move to an earlier bedtime/morning wake up time.
