@bhbee: @jape14: @RonjaL7: @2PeasinaPod: thanks for sharing your experiences! I had to cancel my IUI this cycle so that was a big bummer. but on the brighter side, shingles are scabbing over so definitely feeling better. thanks!

I didn't have shingles while TTC or pregnant, but I did have it within the first 2 months of having a newborn. My doc said the only risk is that I might give him chicken pox if he came in contact with an oozing part of the rash. I continued to breastfeed and it resolved in approximately 8 weeks.

I had them while pregnant with my second. My doctor told me there wasn't a lot of research on it, because most people that get shingles are beyond the age of having children. That kind of stressed me out a little. But everything was fine with the pregnancy and baby.

Random side note, I don't ever recall having chicken pox and I received the vaccine before becoming pregnant with my first.

I didn't have it while TTC but I had it while I was pregnant (second trimester) and there were no concerns from my doctor. The anti-vitals cleared it up very quickly. I hope it doesn't delay your TTC process!

Not while ttc but I was basically told it's only a problem with active symptoms (since the virus lives dormant in your body forever I think ... has been there since you likely had chicken pox as a child!)
Mine resolved quickly but I got anti virals early on which may make a difference.

I'm no expert though that's just what I was told!

I had a rash on my back for about a week that got just bothersome enough for me to finally see a dermatologist today... and she said its shingles?! Of course, I am also on an injectable IUI cycle and my IUI was scheduled for tomorrow morning. UGH. Has anyone had shingles while ttc and can share their experience? How long did you have to wait to start again? sigh.
