Our LO has fat feet too! The only shoes that fit him so far are New Balance (wide), Striderite velcro shoes (wide), Vans velcro shoes (regular width), and See Kai Run. I love the See Kai Run shoes because they're soft flexible leather so they stretch and fit his fat feet. :)

Oh man, we have this same issue- it is awful trying to shove those monsters into shoes! I swear LO's feet are fatter from top to bottom than they are long!
We've found that shoes with a long tongue, velcro, and no rubber at the toes work best for us. Essentially, the more we can open the shoe up, the better it works.

We get Wagon Jr.'s sneakers from the new balance factory store here in Boston. They have wide width AND extra wide width...!! Luckily he's not the extra wide width because those just look like big blobs... hehe.

I no, I didn't know fat baby feet would be a problem. I figured all LO's had fat feet! I'm pretty sure my sister is buying my LO her first pair of shoes for her naming- hope they fit!

I think I will try zappos. DS hates shopping, just like his father, so I don't know how tolerant he would be of me going to a bunch of stores and trying dozens of shoes on him.

We got him his sneakers because he outgrew his winter snowsuit with feet in it. It was such a mild winter that I skipped buying winter boots and opted for sneakers to keep his feet warm, and his socks on, while he was outside at daycare. Now that he's getting close to walking, I want to make sure he's got shoes that fit.

Haha. SO CUTE!! I love fat feet on babies! We haven't gotten LO any shoes. We're actually going to the mall today to buy her her first real pair!

What about Zappos and looking to see if they have wide width rather than medium as an option? the great thing about them is free returns so there isn't much hassle if you want to send something back

Hehe... Wagon Jr.'s feet are naturally wide and he was SO chubby so I had the same problem as you. We found a pair of Janie and Jack fisherman sandals that happened to fit. My best advice would be to go to a mall and just try everything on!! Some things were NOT even close but those sandals surprised me.

DS is a year and I'm looking for sandals for him. I bought a pair of striderite sandals, but they don't fit his fat little feet. Right now he's a size 4, and I bought a size 5 since the weather wont be warm enough for sandals for another month or 2. But while they were plenty long enough, I couldn't fit them on his feet! It's like he's got a layer of fat on the top of his foot. His current sneakers are velcro, so they fit alright.

Any recommendations for shoes for fat baby feet? I'd love a pair of brown leather sandals for the summer.
