We loved Croc's. Their XX-Small is size 2-3. They are so light, and that was an important factor because we didn't want LO weighed down by a heavy shoe. They are also only $20, so pretty inexpensive.

Stride rite. LO had her feet measured there recently and she wears a 3.5 but 2 or 2.5 in other brands. Shoe sizing for kids is weird.

We use See Kai Run smallers. I know they are technically early walker shoes, but they seem to have enough support for normal use. My LO has been walking for 7 months now (wow I can't believe that) and she still wears them. She is a size 4 but we had them in size 3 before that.

Definitely Stride Rite. They're a bit pricey but really great. They're having a buy one, get one 40% off sale on their website right now, and there are always some discounted ones on 6pm.com.

I swear by stride rite! They are wonderful to work with - go to the store and get fitted. I was buying shoes much too small for Fi at first. The shoes are pricy but i've found some sales and coupons

Another Stride Rite mommy here. They measure your LO's feet for length and width. Makes a diff!

I agree with @Pirouette: try stride rite. DS wears a 5w there--having the extra width is great for his chunky feet!

when LO was a size 3 (maybe even 2.5), i got her a pair of stride rites! i got them at nordstrom, and they only had 2 styles to choose from but they were both cute. you could also try the actual stride rite store. Also, does she need an extra wide maybe? stride rite does make extra wide size, and it sounds like maybe she's a 3XW.

Have you checked Clark's? I know they carry smaller sizes or could order them for you if they don't have it in store. My son has teeny but chunky feet and we were able to get a good fit at Clark's (note, he isn't walking yet but he cruises a lot).

H has been walking since she was 13 months old. She's moved past the early walker shoes (especially since it's been so cold/wet lately), and I'm finding it very difficult to find walking shoes that are small enough for her. She is about 29" tall, weighs about 20 lbs., and wears a size 3 shoe. I can get her into size 4's, but they are still pretty big on her. It's getting frustrating because a lot of the name brand (Saucony/Nike/Adidas/Converse) either don't come in small enough sizes OR her foot is too thick for them.

Ideas? She currently has a pair of t-strap sneakers from Target in size 3 and a pair of See Kai Run mary janes in size 4. I'm trying to stay away from character shoes for as long as I can and she can't wear sandals to school.
