We used the soft leather Robeez for DS, otherwise he would just pull his socks off. I found ours at a local baby/kid consignment shop. I think they were $4 for a pair and they were in great condition!

I used Wallaboo booties and were gifted some sheepskin booties. But Swedish moccasins, like the one @Ms.SK: linked are really cozy. H&M sells affordable ones, they're like a thick sock inside but with a leather sole.

I'm leaning toward the Zutano booties. LO will be outside for periods of time as we live in Brooklyn and don't own a car. We'll be walking around outside, and she needs to keep warm.

We used Nowali shoes last winter and they are amazing. They were worm and the twins couldn't get them off. I have a pair for them to wear this winter as slippers in the house.

We didn't use shoes but I purchased some Zutano booties and SWORE by them. They stayed on and kept LO's feet extra warm. I seriously loved these! When we went out we had the Bundle Me so LO was always toasty.

We just used warm socks on our December baby. If going outside or to the car, he was bundled up in warm blankets as well. Seemed to work well, and we never felt the need for shoes.

We're in Toronto. We have a pair of baby uggs (they were a gift). We usually put her in Zutano or Magnificent Baby booties if we are in the stroller or soft soled boots if she will be on the floor. We have a pair of See Kai Run Smaller boots. We probably have too much footwear for her but she is cruising a lot and will probably be walking within a month or two, so we have options.

@swedishfish: I think they're a waste of money if babies aren't walking/cruising. I had a November baby with tons of snow and cold and used thick socks and warm blankies wrapped around his feet. Fuzzy one-piece for when going outside for longer (a bunting). Now that he cruises, we wear robeez and will be using waterproof soft sole boots over them.

We're in upstate NY so we get frigid temperatures and lots of snow!

I just used warm socks but when she was in between walking and crawling, I used the robeez that are made completely of supple leather. I felt like they protected her feet but still allowed 'barefoot' alignment.

Do you put shoes on a non walker for winter? If so, which kind do you recommend? Robeez? Others?

ETA - I live on Long Island so winters are cold.
