Thanks so much! I haven't heard the chair idea before, and I like the idea of psyching out the pain through a rotation.
Yes, we're using my eggs, so it will be our embryos implanted into our surrogate. Such crazy times.

First, best of luck!

Second, I assume you are stimming and using your own eggs if you're doing injections too? My advice on the logistics of the shots: (1) icing the injection site before and after can really help with any pain or itching, (2) I found that sitting in a chair and kind of angling my body back was easier for my husband to inject the needle straight in, rather than me standing, and him crouching to give the shot, (3) We mixed/prepped all the shots, and then hubby would give me the easiest one first, then the worst, then another not so bad one - just a little head game that made me less anxious, (4) they say to rotate the injection sites and you can use your arms and legs, but my IVF nurse said that best absorption is always in your abdomen, so just rotating spots across my belly ensured that the highest amount of med was absorbed.

Hi Bees,

Today my surrogate starts her shots, and on Thursday I begin mine. I'm so nervous and excited and wow. Luckily I was hospitalized a few times last year, so I'm not scared of needles, but at the same time, those were administered by nurses and not my husband. Our surrogate's sister is a nurse, so she's all set. Any pointers on how to make the experience a little easier? Any advice you wish you had known before starting IVF?

Thanks so much! Fingers, toes and eyes crossed!
