The pediatrician we chose happened to have rights at the hospital I delivered at so my son's pediatrician was who came to see him in the hospital his first two days. We researched pedis based on recommendations from friends and our doctors (ob/gyn and family practice) and web searches/reviews. We ended up choosing a pedi that no one had recommended but had stellar reviews online. We asked for recos from friends, family, co-workers online. Then we narrowed based on distance from our home/work. We went to visit the office and met with pediatricians.<br /> If you don't find one before delivery it's not a big deal which ever ped the hospital on rotation will come check your baby out. We asked around to coworkers and friends and read reviews online. When we settled on one we called and set up a meeting, we liked her so we decided to use her! If we wouldn't have we would have went on to our number two pick and done the same thing.</p> <p>Our hospital has a line for pediatrician as well and our office will be at the hospital every day to check the baby before discharge to ensure she is healthy! I like that. Before I got pregnant, I assumed you found a pediatrician after you'd actually had a baby, but I'm guessing it happens sooner. </p> <p>When did you start looking for a pediatrician? Did you actually interview different doctors, or just pick one based on recommendations? </p>
