@heartonastring: I was finding that LO would take a long morning nap and skimp out on his afternoon nap which made for a really cranky evening. Once I got him to stay up longer in the morning (I started by putting him down closer to noon, then 12:30, then 1pm) and he would sleep for 3+ hours then in the afternoon. It was a really nice break and he started that right when we were thinking about day care too!

@2PeasinaPod: I am wondering in the back of my mind if this is the 2-1 transition. I would be okay with that and it would certainly make things easier when she starts daycare in May. But I don't want to move her to one nap if she's not ready. Maybe I'll try it one day and see what happens.

Eek...just commiseration. My LO gave up his morning nap at 10 months  We switched him to 1 at that time...

eek! no advice, just commiseration. I hope it's just a phase (I feel like these weird nap things usually are)!

Argh! My 10 month old has decided for the last several days that her morning nap should only last 35 minutes. In the past it's always been 1-1.25 hours. Now she wakes up at 35 minutes like clockwork.

I've tried shortening her awake time, lengthening her awake time. No matter what I do, 35 minutes.

I don't think it's because of teething or anything, because she still has a good afternoon nap (1.5-1.75 hours) and STTN 7:30-7.

Any ideas? Advice? Commiseration? Wine?
