LO is 7 months old and has always taken 45 min naps, even now that she's down to 2 a day. It's kind of a bummer, but her nighttime sleep is great! (maybe that will be your silver lining, too!)

I haaaaate naps. HATE. We actually got the best naps ever this weekend when we took her to Ren Fest because she was in the Ergo + the car, but duh, that doesn't work every day! Wahh. She will go down for 3-4 30min naps, and that's IT. Sleeps like a dream at night, but man the girl sucks at napping.

She did have a lovely stretch at daycare around 3 mos where she took 2-3 2 HOUR naps, but our theory is she's just having too much fun with toys now to sleep :p

My LO would nap 40-45 min on the dot...I swear he had a little alarm clock that would wake him up if 45 minutes past. He finally grew out of that around 6 months and started taking two 90 minute naps a day.

@Foodnerd81: I have been able to get her back down a couple go times, but it usually only gets me an extra 15-20 min. I can usually tell pretty quickly whether she'll go back down. If she's squirmy/trying to jump out of my arms then it isn't happening!

Consider yourself lucky she goes down easily! I spend an hour gettin her to take the half hour nap :(

Have you tried rocking her back to sleep right away? Sometimes after a short nap I rock her for 20-30 min and she goes down for another 45. And sometimes she won't go back down at all.

DS was like this. He's almost 4 months now and takes a 45 minute nap in the morning and then takes one loooong nap in the afternoon (3 hours). He'll take another cat nap in the early evening for about 45 minutes then it's bed time!

My son took 30 minute naps until about 5-6 months old. They lengthened to 45 minutes until about 7-8 months. The naps got longer when he went down to two naps a day. Nothing made them longer except car rides. Sorry! Just had to wait it out. He's 13 months now and sometimes has 3 hour nap. I never thought I'd see the day!

R is 7.5 months and still has days where she does this. She took 4 naps yesterday, all 30-40 mins. She can nap anywhere 30 mins to 2.5 hours. I can't figure it out. Nothing we do helps.

He did eventually grow out of it! we got down to three 45-1 hour naps... then around six/seven months he went to 2 1 -1.5 hour naps and is still at this schedule at 11 months!

LO has been taking short naps (40-45 min) for about a month (she'll be 3 months old on Sunday). It's 10am and she's already on her second nap! She takes about 5 naps a day because they're so short. She goes down pretty easily, though she does still nurse to sleep.

Is there anything I can do? I've been googling and a lot of the stuff I've read says it's developmental and she'll eventually be able to consolidate her sleep. Was this true for you? I just feel like if that were going to happen it would've happened already. She wakes from her naps crying, but she's smiley when I pick her up.

She can take long naps if we're in the car, but I can't drive her around for hours a day! She naps in the PNP when we're home. Did anyone find anything that works? Or do I just need to wait it out?
