i don't have personal experience, but based on what i know of children of that age, i think that's fine. part of it would of course depend on the children, but it sounds like your gut instinct is telling you that sharing a room would work. best of luck to you!

That set up is totally fine. I know several people who shared rooms starting at that age. Opposite sex at the age is not an issue.

So, a little back story.... DH and I are separating and I will have primary custody. Currently I am a SAHM, but am looking for work. I have savings and a government benefit in the time being though, so I have begun to look for a place. Money will be tight though, until I find employment.

I can easily afford a 2 bedroom unit, but 3 bedrooms are just a stretch at the moment and will deplete my savings too much. So the option at the moment is for DS and DD to share, and when I find a job and rebuild my savings again to move into a bigger place- so this arrangement might be in place for 6 months or so.

DS is 3 in September and DD is 1 in September, they get along great and are always playing together. He calls DD his friend, which is sweet. DD has begun to sleep through the night again just recently after sleep disruptions from hitting milestones (walking!).

But logistically can it work, with a baby and toddler of different ages sharing? Does anyone have this kind of arrangement, if so how does it work and show me a pic of your nursery please!
