At 31 weeks I'd say go for it. I just found out my cousin is planning her wedding for the end of September. I'm the matron of honor and due on 9/17/12. We haven't told anyone we're pregnant yet... I don't know what I'm going to do :(

@cranberryapple: first, welcome to Hellobee!

I think I would plan on it. 31 weeks is not beyond the do-not-travel time and obviously your friend knows you'll be pregnant. If your pregnancy is going well and your ob gives you the all-clear, go for it and have fun!

I don't think there is much to being a bridesmaid, you just have to wear a dress, walk down the aisle and sit at a certain table during the dinner, assuming that's what the wedding will be like.

I felt great at 31 weeks, but WRT to the travel, you've got to see if your OB will clear you and the airline will let you fly.

it depends. i am 30 weeks now and i feel too uncomfy - if someone asked me right now if i would be in their party, i'd say, sorry, i'm not feeling up to it. maybe i wouldn't be feeling like this if i only had a singleton. but with twins, i feel disgusting.

but if you feel fine, i'd say go for it and i'm with @chopsuey119 - just let them know you may not be able to do everything you'd want to.

A few years back, I was a bridesmaid for a friend along with another friend who was pregnant at the time. I don't remember how far along she was. I don't remember the details of what we had to do that day of but during the ceremony she was standing behind me and fainted. I felt her topple past my side and quickly tried to catch her. I wasn't able to keep her from falling but did prevent her from falling too hard. Unfortunately, in doing so, I lost my balance as well and landed on top of her belly slightly. This was before I knew how sturdy a pregnant woman's belly was. I thought for sure I had hurt the baby. Everyone was fine afterwards.
That said, when I was around 32 weeks, I took a two hour flight I visit my sister in SF for a long weekend. I felt perfectly fine.
I would just limit your bridesmaid duties on the day of and make sure you stay hydrated, eat and rest when you can.

I was maid of honor at 7 months. Even though I was uncomfortable at that point, I survived the day (even in heels!). I would say if you are planning on attending the wedding no matter what, then do it. I made sure there was always a place for me to sit down (especially between photo shoots and all that), and Rob Sr. actually followed us around all day with snacks, drinks, comfy shoes, and a comfy sweatshirt just in case I needed any of it. Plus it was nice riding in our car instead of climbing in and out of the limo every time. And I always had a place to lie down (backseat!) if I needed it.

I'm a BM in a wedding at 31-32 weeks and I have to take a short flight! I don't know how it will turn out but I agreed to the wedding before finding out I was pregnant! :)

I guess it depends on you and how you feel. I will be a bridesmaid when I am 38ish weeks along providing Im still feeling fine. Last pregnancy I was functioning fine until the day I went into labor.

I was tired again toward the end, but if it was a for a good friend I'd probably do it. You may want to let the other BMs know that you might not be able to do everything (especially if they've never been pregnant) but that you'd like to help out in whatever way you can. Stay hydrated! :)

If you're allowed to fly at that point, I'd do it, provided the bride was OK with a kind of heavily pregnant BM. I can say that only one of my BMs was any help to me the day of (there wasn't a lot for them to do by the time the others showed up), so if you're feeling a little tired the day of, I imagine she'd understand.

You really don't know how you'll be feeling, everyone is different. But I'd do it. As long as it's not a super long ceremony because that means a lot of standing and I'd want to wear flats.

Don't have personal experience, but I think if a friend asked me, I'd do it. I'd let her know that I won't be able to be as involved in the planning and festivities though.
At 31 weeks you shouldn't be too uncomfortable. You may want to ask your OB if s/he thinks traveling is safe.

So I'm deciding whether to be a bridesmaid for a dear friend of mine. Financial considerations aside, I will be 31-32 weeks along and was wondering if I should be a bridesmaid at that time. I live up in northern California and would fly down south a week and a half beforehand (an hour flight). Would I be able to perform my duties? Will I be super uncomfortable at that time? Either way, I would attend her wedding (unless certain unexpected events unfold), but I'm just wondering if I can handle this! Any first-hand experiences/insight/suggestions/warnings?? Thanks! :)
