Totally normal! I would just keep offering or maybe try a nursing/teething necklace to help keep baby focused?.. Remember that breastfed babies are fine getting their calories anytime in the 24 hours so it's common for baby to reverse cycle some during times that daytime nursing is minimal or they start getting "too busy" to nurse! =)

He may be a "snacker" now. DS started doing very short feeds around 8 months. It's frustrating for me sometimes, but I'm getting used to it. Are you feeling like you are having a supply problem? You could try a supplement to boost your supply - I had luck with brewers yeast. Is he eating any solids or just breastmilk? I agree that if he has plenty of wet and poopy diapers he should be ok.

Has he just started crawling or doing some other cool trick? Sometimes their developmental stuff really upsets their equilibrium but if he's having plenty of wet and dirty diapers then he's probably getting enough breastmilk.

I think it's very common around this age for babies to start doing that. They want to get up and explore and get distracted much easier. DD actually started screaming every nursing session at this age so I had to move to exclusively pumping just so I could continue (which I gave up after 2 more months).

My son is 8 months & we've exclusively breastfeed, with breastmilk bottles at daycare. In the past week, he's been very disinterested in nursing. He will suck for only a few seconds at a time, pull off to sit up and play around, and then suck for a few more seconds. This will go on for 5 minutes to up to 2 hours (if I let it). He's started also waking every hour from 2-5am to eat.

I feel like he only gets one or two "good" feeds a day. Yesterday he only drank 2 oz at daycare and refused to eat this morning before he left.

Is this a nursing strike? Is it something else (teething? He hasn't got any yet). Should I worry about his health/my supply or just keep offering and expect him to eat when he's hungry?
