@Danizaur: That's how my doctor was, she said she wasn't going to let me go more than a week overdue, I asked her what she would do (she's an acquaintance so I trust her judgement) and she said lets scheduele, so we did!

@LuLu Mom: My doctor didn't offer me much of a choice, but he just seemed to have a "might as well play it safe" attitude towards my BP and inducing me if I make it to my appointment. Like, not concerned but let's not take any chances.

@locavore_mama: Lol oh no!! I'm so glad I wasn't in the third tri during the summer.

@Danizaur: damn. You just reminded me I'll have to shave much more often this time around in the 3rd tri since it'll be summer. :P

I had high BP in the last few weeks of my pregnancy, but not Pre -E. I did a urine collection + had to take my BP 4 times a day and record it. I was induced at 39 + 5 days due to the high BP. I was seeing spots, very dizzy, and the last week I retained a lto of water so my feet & legs got huge. I would keep an eye on it, but in reality it was my choice to be induced, they gave me the option to be induced or wait it out another week or so. I was so miserable I choose the induction.

I already have human feet again.

All this looking at my legs business has made me realize I missed like 10 spots while shaving. Bummer! It took me like 30 minutes to attempt to shave this morning.

I called. After explaining EVERYTHING they said my blood pressure is probably high but since my urine was just checked two days ago it's unlikely I have pre-e. I should be okay but to take it easy, drink water, keep my feet up...all that. And to call if the vision changes don't go away (which they already mostly have). LO is moving like crazy as usual so they seem to think I'm alright...just to be careful for now.

Glad I don't need to be seen again. I'll keep an eye on it and I'll definitely go in tomorrow if it happens again.

@Mae: Kind of pointlessly annoying!! All these little issues but nothing has come out of it! I am almost at the end though! Only a week left one way or another.

I would call your OB. You could have them do an NST in the office. I had some blurry vision near the end of my pregnancy. I was going in for another reason. They did an ongoing blood pressure check and made sure that everything was fine.

@Danizaur: Seems like you should call though… ? I mean the doctor (whether you like him or not) will know better than anyone here whether it is even possible to develop pre-e in the 2 days since your urine was last checked. And if there is a chance it IS serious then I'm sure you'd rather go in. I mean, they will know you have an appointment in 3 days… so it just seems smart to let the medical professionals decide whether you need emergent checking vs. waiting it out for a day or 3.

Also, ugh. You are seriously having the worst last 6 weeks of pregnancy ever. :(

I could call DH home early from work but we need the money and to save his time up for when the baby comes.

@HLK208: DH has the car today and will be at work for a few more hours and left me the SUV which is out of gas. My wallet is also IN the car. I dropped it in the floorboard on the way home from the hospital and was frustrated with the whole ordeal I just left it there. I was too angry to bend down and pick it up. Haha. What a situation, right?

@Danizaur: you can always call to get an answer and if they want you to come in today just say you can't today. They can't force you to go in. And if they think you should medically go in then there's your answer.

@MrsH: Nope.

@locavore_mama: my drs office is still open, but if I called the nurses and they wanted me to come in today I would be seeing that other doctor in the practice. The one I don't care much for who I had at the hospital. I know that's silly but if I can hold off on calling til tomorrow I can have my beloved doctor. Whether or not I should hold off or not I don't know...

Can you go to a drug store and use the automated BP cuff there? That's what my doctors suggested for my gestational hypertension (which was 140/85 until 40 weeks then it shot up so they induced me).

Ugh. I swear I had the most uneventful pregnancy up until 34 weeks. Now I can't keep myself out of the hospital or drs office for a week...and I'm not even sick!

Well this past week I've noticed some excessive swelling in my legs and feet. At my doctors visit on Thursday, my urine was clear. BP has been up to about 137/87 averagely which is high but not unexpected. It's been slowly crawling up there from a decent 119/80 for a few weeks. Doctor didn't say anything except that if I make it to my 40 week appointment this coming Thursday that we will schedule an induction.

I also noticed some blurriness to my vision earlier that day, but I had been on the computer most of the day working on our budget so I thought I just got too much screen time. It went away after awhile so I forgot to ask my doctor about it.

After I ended up in the hospital Friday for severe stomach pain and then eventually false labor, I had my urine checked twice (Friday and Saturday) blood pressure taken often (stayed at about 137/87) and had a fair amount of swelling. I didn't think much of it...I figured the staff would have said something if they suspected anything of it. Like I said, this pregnancy has been completely uncomplicated so I had no reason to believe I was suddenly developing issues. I also left the hospital with no baby and no explanation to the severe stomach pain I had been having. They gave me some medicine to ease it away and that was that.

Which brings me to TODAY. My swelling in my legs and feet got pretty intense today. Worst I've seen it, but I'm sure nothing any other pregnant woman hasn't seen. Then that blurriness came back and I started to put two and two together. I don't know if I have pre-e, but maybe my BP is too high? I don't have a way to check it at home. I've got my feet propped up now and sipping on water (I'm well hydrated) and it's getting better.

The reason im asking HB and not calling my doctor is that I'm hesitant to call the doctor because 1.) my doctor isn't seeing patients today and I didn't care for the doctor I got in the hospital Friday and 2.) I've been in and out of the hospital and drs office so much in the past 3 weeks that I do not want to go in AGAIN! Because I have nothing to show for all of my trips. No baby, no diagnosis, no nothing. Gah. What to do? Should I be worried? I feel okay.
