My first one lasted the three years, it was just a little slow before I upgraded. I sold it on Ebay for $140! I love my Iphone 4, it had lots of life left (I'm posting from it now!). I should've added applecare to it though. @Emsmems: yes you're absolutely right, with applecare ($99) all accidental damage is covered after the warranty is up. I think it's $50 or less. I know someone who got an android based phone after having an iPhone and hated it. I think it's hard to go from an iPhone to a phone trying to be an iPhone. Just my opinion!</p> <p>DH had the original iPhone until the 4 came out, it still worked, it just was getting slow and comparing it to the new ones, you can tell how much nicer the new ones are. I had enough sense earlier in the day to wrap my Iphone in it's Otterbox just incase. Well guess what.... that Otterbox didn't have anything on my dd dropping the phone smack onto the ground (like the hundred other times it's been dropped), the glass shattered through the case but it still "barely" works! </p> <p>I took it to Apple the next day and it would cost $145 for a replacement, my upgrade isn't until July so I'm just going to use my old samsung from before until then. I'm trying to figure out what to get next, the Iphone5, or something else, Samsung I heard is coming out with a Galaxy 4 that looks pretty fancy. I'm clueless when it comes to these things though. </p>
