That's nice of you to do!
I would give the gift, if you want to... one of those 'act how you would want to be treated' kind of things. Though I totally see your DH's point.

We are going to her housewarming party later today. I think I will bring a bottle of wine or make a dessert! I don't want to show up empty handed! Thanks Bees!

I vote no. The awkward lying is the deal breaker.

Yikes, that's tough. While I agree that you shouldn't give a gift based on reciprocation rules, it is annoying when you are always the giver and never the receiver.

I'd probably not give it, but I am weird like that.

I'm with @TurtleDoves. I would normally send it anyway but if she's flat out lying about the gift situation, I would just keep it.

i personally would just give it because i like to give gifts to give gifts, not cuz they got me something. i don't keep track of what people gave me. but then, if your husband is so against it, i'd just save it to make him happy.

I would give it if I were attending her housewarming party... I just couldn't come empty-handed. But if you just got the gift card as a thoughtful measure (how nice of you!), I think I'd hold on to it in this case!

I vote no, too! Maybe just bring her some cookies or baked goods as a small token :)

I'd normally say gift it but if she says crap like that I'd save the gift card for another occasion or until you give it some more thought. If you really want to give it to her in a few weeks you still can!
It's funny because I have an engaged friend (lives out of state) who I bought a wedding gift for (sent it early) and 2 wedding veils for...not expecting anything in return. But she texts me every week saying "I'm hoping to make it to the post office today to send out baby X's baby shower gift!" my shower was 8weeks ago:)
Anyways: some people are odd.

DH is annoyed because I bought my friend a housewarming gift ($50 gift card for Target) because she didn't give us a gift for our wedding last summer. He says it isn't the fact that she didn't give a gift (plenty of other people didn't give us gifts) but she always says insincere stuff like...it's on the way, I'm gonna send it this weekend, or I just need to wrap it, etc.

He thinks I should save the gift card...what do you think?!
