I would get a few new transitional things. You want to be comfortable and feel good in what you are wearing! Like the other posters said, you don't have to spend a lot of money on them. But wearing clothes that fit wells always feels and looks better, even if they are only temporary!

I would get a few forgiving dresses since those can span a few sizes. I used @photojane 's instructions on getting free clothes from Twice and got two awesome James Perse sweaters and a pair of J Brand jeans with the tags still on for free! So maybe you could use that to get a few transitional items, then see where you're at in a few months.

I would get new clothes, but I would be cheap about it and take a peek into every thrift shop/Goodwill/consignment shop in my area. I doubt you'll be at that size for very long, so seems a shame to waste $$$$ on new clothes you won't get much use out of!!

I'd get a few things, especially since you are going back to work. If you have time, can you hit up a consignment shop?

If you're going back to work in two weeks, I probably would. But I doubt you're in that size for very long! There was a big difference for me between 6 weeks post partum and 12 weeks postpartum!

Definitely get some new clothes that fit well. You'll feel so much better. I am still hanging on to 10 pounds of baby weight and my hips are wider, so I bought a few items in the next size up and I actually look thinner because I'm not squeezed in to my clothes.

My first pregnancy ... I gained 45 lbs and by the 4-5 week mark I had not only lost almost all of that, but I was back in my pre-pregnancy size.

I gained about 60 lbs before I got pregnant this second time around from medication. I didn't gain that much during the pregnancy. I'm 6 weeks postpartum and I've lost that plus 10 additional pounds. However, I'm in the next size up. I would like to get closer to my original pre-pregnancy weight but I'm just wondering if I should go ahead and get clothes in this bigger size. I go back to work after Christmas and I've only got sweatpants and leggings that fit. The main issues seem to be that my hips are bigger and I've got the loose skin above my c-section incision, so I'm guessing those will take a while to get rid of.
