@winniebee: She usually falls asleep on me, wakes up when I put her in the crib, and then falls right back to sleep. No more...

Thanks everyone! We're on day 2 of this, and I think I may be losing my mind, but we're going to stick with a routine and work it out.

@Weagle: Oooh gotcha! I didn't recognize your name so was wondering : ) Are you putting her in the crib awake or asleep?

Mine recently started taking better naps. Our nap routine is now the following: change diaper, put on sleep sack while mobile is going, put on humidifier or white noise, rock for a few minutes OR feed him a little. I do not let him fall totally asleep and if he does, I kiss him/burp him/wake him up. I put him in the crib and he falls asleep on his own now.

I have no idea how they get him to nap at daycare....except that sometimes on the sheet, I note that they feed him before his afternoon nap.

Well, we've tried naptime twice with her falling asleep on me, waking up when I put her in bed, and her playing by herself for 30+ minutes...not even close to going back to sleep. She never does this. Hopefully this isn't a new trend...

@winniebee: She's 7 months. Your LO and mine have had very similar nap problems. We've discussed it before, but I've since changed my username :)

How old is she?

I would leave her for awhile, even if she starts fussing/crying. I try to now leave my son in his crib for a full hour regardless of what he is doing in there. Usually he won't cry for more than 10 minutes. He's 6.5 months.

I would leave her for a while as well. I did this once because I was in the middle of something and I could hear her babbling and happy, so I figured she was fine. She ended up falling back to sleep and slept for another 1 1/2 hours. It was then that "leaving her alone until she fusses" became my golden rule unless of course it's time for her to eat or some other reason like that.

I would leave her for a while, especially if she seemed happy. I was just asking a similar question because I put LO down too soon, but with time she eventually drifted off. If she was in there awake for 30+ minutes, at that point I would probably take her out and try again later.

Naptime is fairly hit or miss in our house. Right now LO is in a phase where she's pretty easy to get down, but she doesn't always stay down. I got her to sleep about 20 minutes ago and in the crib. About 3 minutes later she woke up, but has been rolling around happily since. Normally her morning nap is 1-2 hours long. Do I just leave her in hopes of her going back to sleep? Get her up and try later?
