@PurpleUnicorn: I thought of you today because someone is selling the B-Ready plus the carseat adaptors, foot muffs, 2nd seat, etc for $275 here! Too bad you're not in England. :(

@PurpleUnicorn: if you're anywhere near a buy buy baby they take the 20% off coupon in addition to the free ride event. We got our chaperone car seat + b ready at the event last year. The stroller is very wide, but I haven't regretted my decision for a second! I love how you can move the seat around (DD currently faces me still) and how our carseat/bassinet clipped in during those early days.

@PurpleUnicorn: this our first and my parents bought us the b-agile. Haven't opened it yet and I can't help but wonder if I should get the b-ready. No where around here has it so I can't see it. Ill probably stick with the agile.

@PurpleUnicorn: i hear you on that -- we are thinking of selling the city mini to get the more expensive and bigger select, butttt.... i love the mini for everyday single stroller-ing and esp for travel and airports! i don't think i can give it up, either :)

@sunny: the chaperone we had definitely did not fit. Me, DH and the salesperson in the store we bought the stroller from could not get it in. We also looked up youtube videos and the seat we had was clearly not made to fit. our car seat seemed to be missing a part that would snap in....BUT i did borrow it from my friend. i don't know which year model it was, i am guessing 2010 or 2011 max. so i guess it is possible that the older model chaperone did not fit the newer model agile. either way, we had to get a new car seat because i had to get a stroller.

@tysonja: i did think about selling the agile, but i am afraid of regretting it. it is a good stroller and we went on vacation with it recently and it was great for travel. i am afraid of giving up the agile and then in a few years, i end up buying something similar thus wasting money when i could have kept it.

@Ree723: i think i have seen you post before about how excited you were about your new stroller on the way! at the time, i was "waiting" for the free ride event and assuming i was going to be getting it too. i only hesitated when i saw the final price and started to question how much i really need it! plus some other expenses have come up recently. thanks for the input! i looked up the compact strider and it looks like the b ready, but i can't tell for sure if it is the same. if like you said, Australia gets them first, then maybe you have a newer model than what i would be getting....hmmmm.

i guess my conclusion is that i still need to see it again in person and then make my final decision. i appreciate all the input though, it is helping!

@PurpleUnicorn: can you sell your b-agile and recoup some money to go towards the b-ready? :) that would maybe tip me over the edge :)

we are dealing with the same thing (canada, needing a double come sept, concerned about $) except we have the city mini and are thinking of the select. or the city mini double.

i do agree that as they get older you don't need nearly as much stuff for them. since LO was about 9 months old i haven't even been bringing the diaper bag with me most of the time. just a snack in my purse (for trips under 2 hours). otherwise i might bring the diaper bag but just leave it in the car :)

hope you figure out what is best for you and your family!!

@PurpleUnicorn: I know this doesn't help you now,
but for anyone else referring to this later the Chaperone definitely fits in the B-Agile. I have the 2012 model of both and my Chaperone car seat snapped into the B-Agile with the included adapter. I didn't need to buy anything extra.

@PurpleUnicorn: We just bought the Steelcraft Strider Compact in Australia (for $700 NOT including the second seat or car seat - damn you Australia and your ridiculous prices) and I think that is the same as the Britax B ready. Steelcraft and Britax are the same brand and I'm pretty sure it's the same stroller.

The one we have is their brand new compact version - the wheels aren't as wide so you can get through all shopping aisles normally, whereas the previous model, the Strider Plus, had super wide wheels that made it really hard to maneuver. I'm not sure if the B ready is the equivalent of the new model or the old model....apparently Britax test markets their new products under the Steelcraft name in Australia to see how they go before selling them in other countries under the Britax name. The new Strider Compact has only been out for 8 months now.

Our new Strider Compact though is the most amazing stroller - we love it so incredibly much! It handles brilliantly, fits everywhere, LO is so comfortable in there (she's been fighting her pram for a while but once we got this one, she has loved being it and sleeps really well in it), and has excellent storage. Whilst I'm still grumpy about the price, I think this pram is worth its weight in gold! I'd definitely so check it out!

@T.H.O.U.: that's my biggest issue is the price. If didn't seem so bad at $529 and I forgot to factor in tax

@MrsCB: going to the states would mean a 2 hour drive (I think) to buffalo. And the added cost of gas to get there - still cheaper but I really don't feel like doing the trip.

I always knew there were cons but through all my frustration I thought they were worth it. I got the agile when I did because that what I could afford at the time. I didn't know about free ride events and the store I saw them in had the b ready for $800 and agile for $270. I was also limited to britax because my friend gave me her chaperone car seat - so I bought the agile without considering the basket too much. Turns out the chaperone didn't fit the agile! Even though on the britax website it says it does! So I had to buy the b safe at that point. But because I had the chaperone initially I didn't research strollers too much because I thought my choices were limited.

All that to say that if I could go back in time I would probably get the b ready. But since I didn't I am debating what to do...I think I need to go see it in person and make a final decision.

We just bought the b-ready and 2nd seat today :). I had tried out the stroller in the store before and loved it. I've tried it with the 2 seats and had no problem walking with it. It's important to me to have something that'll be expandable for 2 kids, so we don't have to spend $300 on a single stroller, then another $400+ on a double.

Is there any way you can go to the US to buy one? Personally I think if you want it now and you're going to want it eventually, better to get it now and get more use out of it. But $600 isn't exactly cheap.

We just bought the B-ready with the Free Ride event to get the car seat for free. We test drove both in the store (multiple times, in multiple stores) and both husband and I ended up like the 2012 better wheels version of the B-ready better in terms of push and handling and stability. Plus, DH is tall and he likes the B ready because of the telescoping handle.

We also waited until now to make the purchase. With the Free Ride event, the B Redy + B safe is only $50 more than the B Agile + B safe, and it has the option of the bassinet (I got one from NBD) and second seat for our second LO later. It also had more and better (IMO) colors.

I have the agile & love it. I test drove the b ready with the infant seat...and guess what? You can NOT walk normally behind the stroller anyone. It's not at all as nimble as the agile and I couldn't swallow that.
We plan in having 2 close together but I plan in keeping my agile and just adding the Hauk free Rider ($300) to the mix:

I had this debate with myself, but went for the B-Agile. Mainly because I knew I would probably want something different when it came time for a double stroller. Also, like @SAHM0811: said, babies don't need as much junk as they get older. The B-Agile has the perfect amount of storage now for my 1 year old.

I was deadset on the B-Ready also until I used it...I felt it was very difficult to control. I ended up falling in love with the B-Agile...which is what we ended registering for!

If we decide to have #2 closer than currently expected we'll sell the B-Agile and upgrade to the B-Ready!

I was dead set on a B-Ready until I test drove it in person too!! It just didn't push well for me with my two DDs in it. Most tandems are this way, with the older child in front.

I would suggest crossing that bridge (of getting a double stroller) when you get to it. Doubles are very heavy and they can be a pain IRL to deal with. i put off getting one until I really, really needed it (DD2 was already 4 months). There are lots of ways of toting two kids around without a double (eg. babywearing the infant while toddler is in single stroller)... Also, new doubles are coming out all the time. I would wait, but that's just me based on my experience.

I realize the B-Ready is a single stroller too, but you're right in that it's significantly more heavy than the single you have now, and I think that's an important factor, especially if you'll be carrying it in and out of your trunk a lot (also when pregnant with your 2nd).

Anyhow, the other pros for you just really seem to be a bigger basket. Don't forget that as babies get older, they don't need as much gear on-the-go... I guess I just don't think $600 and a heavier stroller would necessarily be a better option to upgrade for a bigger basket, plus all the cons you listed.

I don't have either, but I test drove and researched both. Before I went to a store I was dead-set on the B-Ready. Then I went and test drove it and it was way wider than I thought it would be (presumably to accommodate the extra seat). I had trouble mannuvering it in the store because of how wide it was (and I am mostly going to be using the stroller at places like malls, zoos, parks where it will be crowded with other people/strollers). But I know the width doesn't bother some people--have you tested it out yourself? If you're definitely having another LO soon and can see yourself using the extra seat a lot then it's probably worth investing in. Otherwise I'd stick with the B-agile.

I opted not to get the b-ready and got the b-agile pretty much for the reasons you stated.

By the time we have a second kid, I'm sure there'll be another free ride event/great sale on an alternate double stroller, and there's always adaptors if the car seat doesn't fit exactly anymore and you do decide to go with the b-ready.

I waited a month for the promotion. I was getting so frustrated with my teeny tiny basket on my B agile stroller and i longed for the b ready.

now that the promotion is here, i am hesitant to drop $600 for the stroller and second seat.

pros:
- bigger basket = waaaay less frustration and annoyance
- bigger basket = i can walk properly behind the stroller, without my massive diaper bag hanging in front
- second seat will be used when i have a second child (i already have b safe car seat so don't need that part of promotion)....and i worry that if i don't get it now, then there will be a new model in a few years and won't be compatible with car seat i have now (as in if, i want a double stroller, i will have to get a whole new system)

cons
- do i REALLY need to spend $600 on a new stroller when i've been managing with another one for the past 6 months?
- will have to store b agile in my apartment
- the b ready is heavier - will that cause more frustration than the teeny basket of b agile?
- will have to store second seat as it won't be in use for a few years till we have second baby

Can you talk me into or out of getting the B ready?

what are some other pros/cons in comparison to the B agile?
