I couldn't imagine keeping C up later to get a long stretch, it would be awful (she'd be fussy). I vote keep the bedtime the same, get up for the 1x feeding, he will eventually stretch it out and sleep through!

I have also heard that the earlier they go to bed the better they sleep...I would leave his bedtime if he's doing well with it! Plus, this way you get a few hours of baby-free time before you go to bed :)

How old is he? My nearly 5-month-old sleeps better the earlier she goes to bed, and from what I've read that's quite normal. She goes down at 7pm and up at 7am (2 feeds in between). Two nights ago due to a late nap she didn't go to bed until 7.30 and she was awake at 6am. I love having time with dh at night so I'm glad 7pm works best for everyone :-)

i am struggling with this as well! when LO was younger (6-8ish weeks) she would go down around 10 and sleep til 4ish, then another 3 hours. now we put her to bed earlier and she wakes up 3 times a night! ugh..but I love having some time to myself and with my husband, and to be honest, by 7pm i am exhausted and having baby in bed is nice...hoping they just adjust!

Which do you want more - uninterrupted sleep or adult time before you go to bed?!

We've slowly moved LO's bedtime up to 1930 and I have to admit that it's really nice to have a couple of hours to ourselves before going to bed.

M does about 8 hours for ger first stretch no matter when we put her down. So I just sort of see how the day goes. If its a bad nap day and we're both exhausted... She goes down around 8. If she has kept a pretty good schedule all day she'll go down around 10 which is when hubs and I usually go to sleep. Today has been rough... She's still fussy/feverish from her shots. So she went down around 8 and hubs and I just got in bed (9pm central time).

I would keep his bedtime as is.
Eventually he'll sleep longer!
J goes down around 7:30-8 too.

DS goes down around 10:30- 11 and is done until about 8am. He will not go down before 10:30 regardless of us trying....Night Owl of a child....

So DS does 6-8 hour stretches nighttime sleep. He was sleeping from 10pm - 5 or 6am for a while and then we moved up his bedtime to 8pm... and he's been getting up around 2-4 am for 1x feeding.

I like his new bedtime much better and hope his nighttime stretch progressively gets longer.

But sometimes I think we should just keep him up with us and put him down later so he sleeps later?

What would/did you do?
