Called my doctor, and of course she’s out of town for a week! Fortunately they ordered the CD 3 labs for Monday, and the NP she works with will hopefully write the rx.

I'd definitely go for the clomid this month, because of the endometriosis and age situation. Both of my OB is didnt hesitate on prescribing me clomid and didn't make me wait.. I was 26 and 28 and have PCOS.

@Shantuck: that’s what I’m thinking, it’s just so much pressure! Thank you :)
@SweetiePie: I think I’ve decided to go for it. I’ll try calling my doc in the morning, and hopefully she goes for it.

I would also accelerate and do it ASAP. Not because I think one month makes that big of a difference, but why not?
Also, I would MUCH rather travel at 4 weeks pregnant (ie just took a test) vs 8 weeks. I felt pretty hellacious at 8 weeks.

If the plan is for two more and you're essentially racing the biological clock and the endo clock, I would think it makes sense to try to accelerate the process. Fingers crossed for you that it happens quickly! :goodluck:

@MrsSCB: thank you! I totally agree it is only one month more, which makes me want to tell myself to calm the hell down, but then the other part of me thinks why wait? I think my doc would be fine if I call and ask for it this month. She wanted me to wait to try 6 months (I may have fibbed and said we had been trying a little longer than we had), but then wanted me to start clomid right away because “you know, you are about to be 35, and we don’t want to wait too long”. Also, she agrees that my endometriosis growing is a concern.

I feel like May isn't that far away. Which both means it'll still be a quick wait, but also if you want to start this month it doesn't seem like a big deal. I can understand your thinking of wanting to be eight weeks for your trip rather than four as well. Do you think your doc would be OK with it?

Also, yay, I'm excited for you! You make adorable babies :-)

I do ovulate on my own, but not “strongly”, without meds. Vitex worked for me the one time, but since I’ve been taking it the past few cycles, I don’t know how effective it has been since I’ve had early spotting and a marginal luteal phase.
I would just do clomid on it’s own, no iui.
Progesterone on its own hasn’t ever helped me, probably because I don’t have a strong enough ovulation in the first place. I did take progesterone after ovulation when I got pregnant with my first three.

Why would Clomid be the option? Do you not ovulate well? Would you do that as-is or with IUI? Also, with a luteal issue, what about progesterone?

Let me start off by saying I know I am probably way overthinking this LOL. I’m getting on here to ask opinions because I’m pretty sure my husband will go crazy if I talk this out anymore with him.
A little backstory: it took me a year to get pregnant with my first child. I also had to have surgery in that time and was diagnosed with stage four endometriosis. I also have a luteal phase defect, and took clomid to get pregnant with my first two children.
With my third baby, I took vitex and got pregnant the first cycle I tried with it.
We want to have one or two more kids, and I feel a time pressure because the more cycles I have, the more my endometriosis grows, and the harder it will be to get pregnant. Also, I will be 35 in June, and if we want to have two more, we need to get on it.
Soooooo, we have been trying and I’ve been taking vitex, but no luck. My luteal phase was only 10 days this month, and I had two days of spotting beforehand, so not great. My doctor said she would start me on clomid in May, but I’m considering calling her and asking to start this month.
We’ve only been trying 3/4 months, but I feel like why “waste” another month not giving it my all since my endometriosis is growing and eggs are getting older LOL.
The other part of me is trying to stay rational and wait, it is just one more month.
Another consideration is we have a trip to Vegas for my 35th birthday, and if I were to get pregnant I would be either 4 or 8 weeks. I think I’d rather be 8 weeks if I wouldn’t be able to enjoy non-pregnancy friendly things (massages and drinks) anyway.
Thoughts? Humor my overthinking brain please
