A lot of babies fight the swaddle for a little bit before they fall asleep- that's pretty normal. I wouldn't give up on it just yet- he may fight it for a few minutes and then relax.

I am going to try swaddling but if my baby doesnt like it and sleeps fine without it, I'll just stop doing it. not all babies like to be swaddled.

I also thought LO didn't like the swaddle because she'd fight when we put it on her. But then I learned that LO's don't know what's best for them yet, and after she calmed down she slept better swaddled.

I would also suggest trying a different swaddle like the miracle blanket.

Yes, I would try it again if he is waking himself up. Maybe experiment with different swaddles if he doesn't like that one.

Yep...we ultimately used the Miracle Blanket since her reflex and will was so strong. It gave her much more rest until 3 months old when we unswaddled.

I didn't swaddle at first, but my son's Moro reflex was very strong, so he'd wake himself up a lot at night. One night, I swaddled him out of desperation...he loved it. I know this is hard to believe, but he'd even put his arms down at his side when I got him into the swaddle.

When my LO came home from the hospital we swaddled with a blanket. We started using a sleep sack with a velcro swaddle part but recently whenever I put it on, my LO starts to fuss a little and grunt as if he's trying to break free of his pseudo straight jacket. This makes me think he doesnt like it. I'll then nurse him until he calms and gets drowsy. I've experimented and tried letting him sleep without the swaddle part but his little active arms will touch his face/head and then wake himself up! Should I still swaddle?
