Agree with the ladies......I have regular cycles, too, and temping took the guessing out of ovulating....and getting my BFP (temps stay high)
Good luck!

I feel so in tune with my body when I temp--definitely I recommend it.

@lawbee11: Unfortunately there's really no way to know without temping. Lots of people have anovulatory cycles (meaning they get their period but don't ovulate). Fertilityfriend.com has a lot of good basic info on how it all works if you haven't read TCOYF yet!

@Adira: @Phillybaby2013: @JessLC: @ladyfingers: @JoJoGirl: @Rachel: Thank you all! That is super helpful and I think I'll try tempting for at least a few months. You think I am ovulating though, right? I assume I wouldn't be having a period if I weren't?

Yeah, I agree with PPs, I have 28 day cycles but I ovulate on CD 18-20, which means my my luteal phase is only 8-10 days long (which is bad!) I never would have known without temping.

Definitely! My cycles are still regulating after coming off 10 years of birth control, and settling into ovulating day 19-20. I'd have no way of knowing without temping or OPKs.

I would temp, my cycles were pretty regular but I was surprised to find out I usually ovulated around day 20 instead of the "typical" 14.

Think it is helpful because some ladies ovulate as soon as 12 days into their cycle, so if u assume 14 days, you'll always be too late to conceive. Can't hurt and I thought it was kind of fun to confirm it and marvel at the workings of the human body.

It can't hurt. I was in a similar situation coming off BC but I started tempting right away. I really enjoyed charting and it helped me feel more in control of the process. I charted for 2 months while we used other protection and then I got pregnant the 3rd month. I knew by my chart that the chances of me conceiving were very high and it worked out for us. I used the Fertility Friend app. Good luck!

I would maybe temp a couple months - just so you have an idea when you ovulate. My cycles also became pretty regular off BCP (28 days), but I don't ovulate on the normal Day 14 like you expect - I ovulate Day 16 or 17 usually. So you might want to temp for a couple months just so you know when you normally ovulate.

DH and I are planning to start TTC in 6-8 months or so. I got off BC in May, and I just assumed I would have wacky cycles because I'd been on the pill for 7 years. To my surprise, my cycles were immediately regular and have consistently been 28-29 days ever since. I had always thought I would try tempting in the months leading up to TTC to make sure everything was working properly, but do you think I should still temp even though my cycles are so regular? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
