There are employers who already would prefer men over women, especially over mothers. I think this would at the least be in the back of people's heads when hiring. I work at a pretty progressive company and our shady HR guy tried to get my boss not to hire me when I was pregnant, to which she told him that was illegal and ignored him. I don't think women should be offered additional PTO because we get aunt flo once a month. This is job security for women and keeps them in the workforce. I can see how a separate menstrual cycle policy is necessary for a an employee with insufficient PTO or works for a company with a rigid sick leave policy. </p> <p>I have taken PTO for severe cramps and body aches. If PTO wasn't available I would have been miserable and unproductive at work.
