Even though we definitely don't have the ability to make our backyard look like ANY of those pictures, they give us a good idea of what we want, so we can find smaller, cheaper ways to incorporate them. We know we like the look of stone/brick and an outdoor fireplace, so we're going to try to build a small-scale version. We really like that two-toned curved wood deck, so when we build ours we want to use multiple colors of stain, and add a curve to the railing - but it won't be sooo big. That hanging bed is an awesome alternative to a hammock, and totally doable. That pool - that's just a dream. Way to expensive to run a pool that we'd have to drain and fill every year! The deck needs to be tore down and we want to put a patio in instead (the deck doesn't go to anything, or have a door to it), and we want to put a fire pit in the backyard. But there will be a covered (existing roof overhang) patio area that steps down to a larger deck/sun bathing area. We have a inground pool then opposite end of the house we will have a firepit much like the one @mediagirl: has. There will also be a vegetable garden. A stockade fence around our whole property. The pool has a chain link fence around it that needs to be replaced, but not this year. We're installing a privacy fence along the side yard so passersby don't look right into the pool/yard and eventually, I need to address the front yard, namely I want to create some decorative borders/flower beds along the street edge.
