@Anagram: Love this!! It looks beautiful, and I agree that is how I feel, mine just feel really unfinished bare (and also there's an empty curtain rod still hanging there from the previous owners...4 years ago). I love what you did!

@HappyBaker: These are old pictures and we've since rearranged and have a real rug--but we had an pentagonal space (the windows continue outside of this pic), and it seemed unfinished to me somehow and I kind of agonized over what to do to finish the windows. In the end, we did curtains on every window, with connecting rods bought at Ikea on the cheap. This is a before and after.

@HappyBaker: That's kinda why I haven't really done anything downstairs. I don't want it to be too formal and don't know how to do casual curtains... is that a thing? haha

@.twist.: Yea agree our curtains would just be for show too I think. We have blinds on each window already.

@HappyBaker: Yea, I'm dreaming big here, with that photo. LOL

Also, I like the open look, I probably wouldn't close them very often. We have nice blinds, so we'd only need the curtains for looks (we don't need pitch black at night to sleep, thankfully).

@.twist.: that is GORGEOUS! My home is definitely not luxurious enough for that haha. But I do like the separate curtains, that is a great idea.

We have 2 bay windows, one downstairs and one in our bedroom (they are the same wall, going up!). I haven't figured out what I'm doing downstairs, if anything, and I haven't done anything in our room yet because of laziness/funding has gone to more important items. However, this is (I think!) what I WANT to do for our bedroom.

(Please note: our bedroom is not nearly as luxurious as this and our bed is not in the same spot).

After 4 years of being super picky I think I found a fabric for our living room curtains. There's just one big bay window made up of four angled smaller windows, and I'm not sure if I should do a valance or actual curtain panels! I'd love to see your own solutions :-)
Thanks!
