We cut it ourselves on my grandparents' property. It's a very young Douglas Fir, not farmed to be a Christmas tree, just growing naturally in the woods. We always pick trees that are crowded so that we can leave one in the same place to grow into a big tree. It makes for a less perfect, but I think charming and unique tree. Also, the less dense trees have so much space for ornaments deeper in the tree, which I like the look of.
