Oh fun! I think you should enjoy yourself! :) And as PPs have said, I'd just get her a gift that I'd get her for a bday or Christmas, etc. as a thank you :)

yay, fun! I agree with others that your role is to show up and have fun :) As for a gift, I didn't go with "traditional gifts"--I just bought each hostess something I thought she would like, so more like shopping for a birthday present. So one girl got a rabbit wine opener, one girl got a cookbook, and one girl got a necklace.

1. Yay for getting a shower!
2. You have no role here except to show up, look adorable and enjoy yourself
3. My sister threw my bridal shower and I got her a coach whistlet with a $50 gift card inside....you don't have to go "coach" or $50...you could do a banana republic clutch with like $25 gift card inside? My sister loved it. I didn't do anything for her for my shower because we did it together as a big family thing so that situation was different.

I had 2 different showers with a combined 5 hostesses so I got them insulated, reusable cup with cute prints and filled them with candy. It ended up being about $15 a person. If it was just 1 or 2 I would have spent more and included a gift card.

Yay! That is so awesome of your friend!! I think one of the best things you can do for her is have a great time and let her see/know that you are having a blast:). A card and some sort of gift or gift cert is great as well (or you could take her out for dinner -- to get some good girl time in before baby comes -- not sure if possible though if you live in different cities!), and if appropriate you could also help by staying after the party is over to help clean up! A million heartfelt and gushy thanks and hugs as well! :) enjoy, you are worth it!

I think you're just supposed to sit back and show up! :)
I would offer to help, but I'm sure your bff will decline.

I gave giftcards to my SIL and DH's aunt (They threw the party for me).

Fun! :)

I got each of the 3 girlfriends who hosted my shower a thank you card and gift certificate. I tried to be more creative, but I was 8 months pregnant, tired, and couldn't think very well :P

I offered to bring food, help decorate, etc but they all turned down my help and told me my job was just to show up, open gifts, and have a good time :) So while if you can ask if you want, I bet she'll tell you all you need to do is show up... so I would recommend just sitting back and enjoying!

I wasn't expecting a shower bc all of my family lives away and I didn't really think I knew enough people here to constitute a get-together. Well somehow my amazing BFF has managed to plan one for me, and she totally surprised me with the news last week. It's for this Sunday, so while I'm thrilled, I haven't had a lot of time to look into my responsibilities.

1.) What should I do for a thank you gift for her? She is totally my BFF. I know it doesn't have to be anything huge, but if you guys have any suggestions for something super clever, I'd be so grateful!

2.) She mentioned that she is going to get Olive Garden soup and salad (one of my fave chain meals and DH does not like to go so it's kind of a thing her and I do together) and that some other people are bringing desserts...I feel bad not doing anything to help. Should I offer to bring stuff or pick stuff up? What is my role here?

So just any info about showers in general would be appreciated:) I didn't have a wedding shower either due to the fact we just moved to SoFlo and didn't know anyone here...So I'm clueless!
