I was at one recently where the hostess put 3 fgifts in play then read a story that had a ton of "left" and "right" references...if you were holding the gift and heard left or right, you passed it that direction. Whoever had the gifts at the end won them. The story was pretty silly and was related to the bride meeting Mr Right! It's probably online somewhere...

Write down things the bride says while opening gifts. Afterwards, read them back as things she will say on her wedding night. Hilarious! We were crying from laughing so hard at my SIL's bridal shower!

We did a questionnaire kind of like the newly wed game. What's your fav food, when was the first date, etc. Gave the questionnaire to bothe bride and groom. Also gave it to the guests to guess. Then the host revealed the grooms responses and then the brides. It was funny. No awkward questions but fun to see how close the groom got

Have a timer randomly go off while she is opening her gifts. Whoever's gift she's opening at that time gets a prize. Low key, doesn't put anyone in the spotlight really, and keeps things interesting while the gift opening drags on. ;)

We had a photo wall of the bride from birth to present day...each picture was numbered 1-15 and the guests went and guessed the age for each picture. The person with the most right won a prize. I liked it bc people could do it on their own time so it didn't feel like a game.

At a shower for my DHs cousin my MIL had s tray full of random items... Like gum, thread, light bulb etc (maybe 20 things) and everyone got to look at it for one minute and then write down as many as they could remember. It was cool!

I'm the same as your sister! I don't like to be center of attention (which is really hard to avoid as a bride!)

At my shower my sister did:
-match the memory with the guest. Everyone wrote a memory on a pretty piece of paper and in between gifts I would read one aloud and guess who wrote it. Lots of fun! But also has potential to be embarrassing if you really can't remember and it makes the person feel bad (which happened to me once. Oops!) My sister then put them all in an album for me, so I have a nice album with my closest friends' and family's memories with me.

- an egg timer was set to random increments and whoever's gift I was opening when the timer went off got a door prize.

This is one we did at my best friend's shower - I went and bought 10 or so spices and we covered the bottle with wrapping/tissue paper that matched our theme and put mesh material over the top and tied a ribbon around it (all of this is so that they can't see the label or the spice but can smell it). We numbered them and had an answer sheet where they could guess the spices based on smell. I would advise against too many that are obscure. Haha. I thought I'd be sneaky and found the most random spices and really stumped everyone and the "winner" was only able to guess 3 out of like 10. Haha. So I recommend to do basics that could be confused like oregano, basil, etc. and throw just 2-3 stumpers in there. The bride gets to keep the spices to build up her pantry :-)

I didn't really want games at my shower so we just did a list of random dates and asked guests who had the closest date to it for handing out gift baskets in between gift opening.

Clothepins that guests wear (make cute) everytime you catch someone saying wedding they take a clothespin.

Newlywed game! Get finances answers ahead of time and then bride answers on a whiteboard. So fun.

I feel the same way and some nice ones/not huge productions were.

Guess the mamas belly with a piece of yarn. They set it up so people could just grab it and knot it and then pin it back up (like a clothesline set up) people interacted with one another and nobody was allowed to come up to me and cheat. My friend had measured me separately so I just had to go up when they announced the winner and show that it was the closest.

Not really a game but on everyone's plate we had cards of predictions/well wishes .. They are such a sweet keepsake and I'm so happy they implemented that! It has fill in the blanks "I hope you get your fathers _______ , I hope you get your mothers ________, I hope you learn ________" etc. loved it.

Also blindfolded diapering of stuffed animals .. I didn't have to be involved at all and women loved it.

I always do bridal bingo. Make each of the guests a bingo card where the squares are things from your sister's registry. The guests play as your sister opens her presents and the first few people to get bingo get gift baskets. It makes watching someone open presents a little more exciting.

Another fun one is twenty questions. So you ask the groom a bunch of questions ahead of time about their relationship (Where was your first date, what is your favorite meal that the bride cooks, etc). At the shower, you ask the bride the same questions and see how many matching answers they get.

My sister had some fun ones for mine:

Who is .....
Like who is the more romantic one Bride/groom
Who wears the pants? Bride/groom

Also did a memory game where a guest writes a favorite memory with the bride but keeps it anonymous the brise then reada aloud and has to match the memory with the person

I'm throwing my sister's bridal shower in a few weeks, and I'm looking for some 'games' (used loosely) that aren't your typical shower games. My sister isn't really a centre of attention type person- so I don't think the toilet paper dress-type game would work.
Any ideas?
