I think that can hugely affect the gifts.<br /> I would also agree with those who said that they got more clothing because they were having a girl. BUT our registry was so small that not everyone could have bought off of it even if they wanted to. And if you include gift cards and money to buy things ourselves probably 80-90%. Even those who gave clothes often gave $$ or gcs.<br /> 3) How many clothes did you receive that were not registered for?<br /> Including all gifts, not just the showers, LOTS! We had 2 small showers but most of the clothes were not given during the showers, and lots came from our parents' friends who we don't even know. Almost nothing off the registry from guests other than immediate family (grandparents). But I think a boy baby shower is different than a girl baby shower. Even though all my guests knew that I was having (and then had) a boy I got mostly registry gifts and hardly any clothes, but I did not register for any clothes besides basics.<br /> My sister had her girl baby shower a few months later and got a TON of clothes and fewer "practical" gifts off her registry.<br /> In my experience, I have seen guests tend to buy cute clothes for girl showers and tend to buy registry gifts for boy showers.<br /> ETA: And a cautionary tale, my SIL was told she was having a boy, got boy clothes and blue, blue, blue for her shower and it ended up being a girl. We decided not to tell the world until at our shower. We got almost everything off our Target registry and only a few clothing items which oddly enough were either for a boy or a girl, not neutral. I guess people just assumed *they* knew what we were having. I LOVED having it this way. We got SO many necessities. Diapers, wipes, soaps, sheet protectors, hangers, feeding supplies monitors, a bouncy seat etc all in neutral.
