As I step into the shower, similar to you, I test it and adjust. I'm like you, put the stopper in and set it to hot. Sure it runs cold for a bit but it evens out with the really hot water and by the time I'm ready for the kids, I even it out to the temp I want (if we need any more water by that point). One of my guy friends was like wow you really have no shame when you poll people! It’s true I have no shame when I ask my friends questions.</p> <p>Here is the back story a while ago DH asked me to turn the shower on for him, which resulted in figuring out we turn on the shower differently! BTW we have only one knob so if you have two knobs this probably won’t happen to you.</p> <p>Me – I turn on the shower all the way to the hottest setting. I check on it by putting my hand in it while waiting for it to get warm. When it gets pretty hot I adjust the setting and check on it a little bit more before hopping in.</p> <p>DH – He turns it to a setting he thinks is correct, does whatever he does before he hops into the shower and then hops right in without testing it.</p> <p>As you can probably already tell, DH hopped into a scalding hot shower when he asked me to turn on the shower for him. So terrible! I was like who doesn’t check the shower before they hop right into it?!?! Also *if* I did it his way how would he know my preferred temp was his preferred temp.</p> <p>Anyways I thought he was nutso for doing it that way and I totally polled all my friends. Surprisingly a few of them do it the same way as DH (mostly guys!) but most people did it similar to me.</p> <p>How do you start your shower? DH? </p>
