Also what about movies? There are always stupid movies that I just stop and zone out/watch whenever they are on TV. They're totally random too!

Harry Potter movies
Little Women
The Wedding Singer
Waiting to Exhale
The Sweetest Thing
Knocked Up
Will Ferrell movies
Wes Anderson movies
Zoolander
Chris Farley movies
40 Year Old Virgin
What to expect when you're expecting
Bad Boyz 1 and 2
Jerry Maguire

Omg also I can watch Deadliest Catch, Alaska the Last Frontier, Life Below Zero, and Alaskan Bush People allllll the time. My husband thinks it's so weird. OH and that Dual Survival and Survivorman show. I think it's so interesting!

@JennyPenny: @SweetiePie: OMG watch it!!! it's so funny and the outfits are still great and it still holds up even though it's like twenty freaking years old now. but I was going to say I've been working my way through It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia during my nightly pumping session. super funny/digestible and 22 minutes long. it's on Netflix. the first season is just okay but the second season they introduce Danny DeVito and it gets so funny.

Anything on Food Network or a show I've seen tons (Frazier, HIMYM). I either need to know the story line in and out or it has to be resolved within the show's length.

@JennyPenny: I really liked Life in Pieces (available on Netflix). It's similar to Parenenthood but funny - short vignettes about a family with grown kids and kids of their own. I think each episode is literally 22 minutes.

@gingerbebe: Ditto Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern are both perfect for this. I love seeing different cities and cultures and they're each one and done. No plot to continue and say "I can't wait to see what happens next".

I love all the BBC nature documentaries - they are like an hour each, but David Attenborough's voice is so calming that it easily floats in the background, I've fallen asleep with it on, but the visuals are stunning if you want to be engaged in watching it. And there's no real plot to lose track of.

Mind of a Chef, the Chef's Table series, Anthony Bourdain, - all the foodie docs are great for that too.

I'm currently watching Felicity for this purpose because I watched it way back and know how it ends so I don't care if I come in and out. So I'd suggest a teen favorite or something you already watched but a while ago.

I like documentaries for this purpose (it's kind of also the reason I read non-fiction, I need things where there isn't a lot of history or storyline to remember for long breaks).

I find that something like a sitcom is a lot easier for me to resist binging. For example I watched New Girl from the beginning on Netflix and while I did binge a little it was a lot easier for me to stop it if I needed to do something. Also they're only about 25 minutes long so perfect for like a nursing session or whatever. I also just decided to start watching The Office from the beginning. I was in love when it was on air and decided it would be a nice light easy watch for the summer.
