@.twist.: or look at drop box. I have started using a combo of Shutterfly and Drop Box for storage. I love that shutterfly doesn't limit the space and you dont have to make an order to keep your account active. I have pictures from college on there!

I make tons of photo books and I actually write a blog on them. @.twist. if you need any help, I'd be happy to give you some tips. My site is linked in my profile and I've done lots of Shutterfly reviews. My favorite one so far is the one I did for this past Valentine's Day. I made them as gifts for the grandparents. :)

@runsyellowlites: haha yea, I'm SUPER lazy and if this works out for me I might actually have photos to put up in our house!

@LuLu Mom: Ah, can you re-download them to your computer?

@sunny: Thanks for the tip! That is actually a great idea!! :)

Also, a tip for anyone reading that I just heard from a friend is that you cannot use iphone photos! She tried to make an album from them and went to checkout just to find all her work was for nothing and it couldn't be ordered.

I have no idea if that applies to ipad photos as well. Would love to hear if anyone can weigh in on that one.

@LuLu Mom: shutterfly is no good for online backup. You cannot download photos at their highest quality. I think you might be able to download photos at very small sizes (not suitable for printing).

Your only options are to order a disc (not sure of the cost) or to create a photo project.

I recommend CrashPlan to backup your collection!

Oh btw one tip I have is to create a photobook when you have time and then order when they send you a good coupon!

I've let a few free book coupons expire because I didn't have the time to make a book. :-(

@.twist.: Without Shutterfly we would NEVER have printed photos! Seriously! I'm horrible about getting prints done so when Shutterfly sends out their 101 free prints (usually a couple times a year) we stock up! Sadly I just missed this last one b/c we were moving & I didn't have time to load pictures, BUT next time I'll totally be on it!

I personally have never done a photobook b/c I can't seem to get into designing them/placing the photos.... I really should for the awesome discounts they have though!

@.twist.: They send tons of promo codes for 40% or 50% off and I think there was a free book one just now. Also often there's a code for free shipping. It's one site where it seems we get the same perks as in the states.

Thanks ladies, I'm getting the impression that it's really great depending on the type or project you're doing?

@Grace: I know you're in Canada, so, do you find they send out a lot of coupons and stuff? What's the shipping like?

I love Shutterfly for photo books and a calendar. I'm making a baby book on there right now with the plan to print it off when LO is 2. I think the quality is fine, but I'm also not picky. One annoying thing is that the site can be a bit buggy (stuff won't open, freezes, things like that).

I've made lots of photobooks using Shutterfly. Always always look for coupons! I have never ordered a photobook without a 30%-40% off coupon. Occasionally they will send you a coupon for a free 8x8 book and you pay $8 shipping.

I love Shuttefly but I just wish their shipping fees weren't so ridiculous.

I agree, the print quality is what you get for the price. I never buy anything on there unless I have a coupon or there's a good sale, there is always some promotion going on. I like their photobooks because you can easily customize them.

I love it because of all the coupons they send out! I've actually been pretty pleased with the quality of prints I've gotten, even ones as large as 11x17. Mind you, normal point and shoot photos I would keep smaller, but if you have large professional files like I did (like for my engagement pics), they turned out great. They send out coupons so often that I haven't paid more than 20$ total for hundreds of prints over the last couple of years.

I also buy their photo books very regularly, and the one I just made for DH's anniversary present looked great!

I've made a couple of photo books on Shutterfly and they turned out cute. I also made a photo calendar, and it is really cute! My MIL is obsessed with Shutterfly and has a million prints from there. I would say their print quality is comparable to Walgreens or Target--not great but not bad. I would print pictures to hang on the fridge or put on your desk at work, but I wouldn't order large prints to hang around the house from them.

What are your opinions on Shutterfly?

I've heard a little about it, but really don't know anything about how it works or what's great about it?

Can anyone give me any tips or tricks or warnings? Is the quality good?

I just signed up for it and apparently I get 50 free prints for signing up and I'm thinking about testing it out on some wedding photos!

Thanks!!!!
