Aww poor baby!!! P was cathed twice when she was born (it was/is so horrible). Glad you got her checked out!!!! I might add a probiotic of some sort or even yogurt if she doesn't normally have any in her diet.. P is sensitive to antibiotics & ended up with a wicked yeast rash last time she had any. Hope her uti clears up quick, those things suck!

Had to take LO up to the ER tonight. Her fever got up to 104.9 and she was really lethargic. Kaiser was amazing. We didn't have to wait in the waiting room at all, nurses were with us immediately, the doctor was speedy...we were on our way home less than 2 1/2 hours from when we arrived, with a baby who was happy and cooler. She's on a new antibiotic in addition to the one she was prescribed earlier today. Still no appetite, but a huge improvement. Thank you all for your kind thoughts.

@MaisyMay: oh goodness poor baby! I was very worried my LO had a UTI and was set to take her in the morning her fever had broken and she showed her rash. So glad you listened to your gut and she's on her way to feeling better.

@Espion: They weren't able to get the catheter in, so they cleaned her really well and put a catch bag on to get a clean sample. She's napping at home now.

@MaisyMay: I'm sorry the catheterization was so traumatic. :( They did the right thing, though. I would never allow anyone to treat my baby for a UTI unless they could prove it with a proper sample.
I hope your baby is feeling better soon!

Well, her appointment showed a urinary tract infection. Ever see/here somebody try to catheter a baby girl? I had to hold her down while she screamed and I was absolutely in tears. She sleeping in her ring sling while I wait to get her prescription.

I hope that she's ok! My son had a ton of fevers from 5-12 months courtesy of daycare and they were usually just viruses that ran their course after a few days. I hope its the same for you.

Oh sweet baby - hope she feels better soon. We just went through something very similar a week ago and it turned out to be Roseola. High(ish) fever for 3 days and then the telltale rash.
She just wanted extra sleep, cuddles on mom and dad, and we made sure she nursed a lot and had water, too (though I am forgetting how old your LO is).
It's just as hard on mom and dad as it is on baby :/

Lo has her first fever. At 10;15 it was 101.3, and at 4 a.m. It was 103.7, no other symptoms of anything. The advice nurse said that it wasn't part of teething and that unless it hit 106 or was 101 over 3 days, not to bring her in.

It's almost 5 a.m. and I have her sleeping on my chest as I am in the glider with the fan oscillating on us.
