Maybe it's the nursing position. My daughters have both done that from time to time when they're sick or teething. I put on a little music, scratch their back and nurse while we're both laying on our sides.

Mine got sick around that time and I thought she was weaning. She got better and went right back to nursing. If I were you, I'd just follow his lead, and know that even if he does wean, you've gone 10.5 months. That's awesome!!

So sorry your LO is so miserable. I hope he gets to feeling better soon! When my LO was about 11 months, she got a stomach bug and couldn't nurse for 48 hrs. I only pumped a little bit once because I was uncomfortable. When LO started to nurse again, my supply was OK, so maybe not all hope is lost if you want to keep nursing.

My son is 10.5 months and is MISERABLE - he has a viral infection making him all blocked up, a bacterial ear infection in both ears & is on antibiotics that are messing with his little gut. Plus, we travelled back to Australia from Canada 5 days ago and his sleep is still messed up. Basically he is the saddest baby alive. The last few days I've planted myself on the couch and let him nurse on demand, cause he's been off solids, dehydrated, and for the comfort. When his ear infection really kicked in hard, he flat out refused to nurse & has done for about 24 hours. He'll take formula in small bursts and water anytime, but screams and arches away from my breast. I don't have it in me to pump whenever I would have fed him, it's just not for me - when I went back to work at 6.5months pp we started mix feeding. I always thought I'd breastfeed a year or more but I start work again in 4 days and don't want to be engorged from pumping/demand feeding if he starts nursing again. I guess...maybe I'm/he's weaning? Seems like a horrible time when he's sick but he also is acting like my milk is poison. Not sure what I'm asking here, just want to talk about it.
