I was terribly sick with a cold for one week of the TWW. I was being jaded (thinking I wasn't preg) and I took Nyquil and a Sudafed... But the one thing that made me feel better was acupuncture! And, I still haven't recieved AF so fingers crossed...

Thanks for all the replies ladies. I'm sticking with just plain old Tylenol to help with the sore throat and then steamy showers to try to alleviate the congestion. Hopefully I'll wake up tomorrow magically improved since I can't take any time off since I just had a weeks vacation!

Mine only ok'd Benadryl, Tylenol and nasal saline. I ended up having to use pulmicort for some pretty severe asthma and I took zofran for vomiting.

Mine OK's same as @artbee - with the addition that Cepacol lozenges are OK. I have had a cold for the past several days and so far have just taken the Cepacol and Tylenol (can't stand Robitussin DM!)

My OB ok'd Tylenol Cold (not multi-symptom, just regular liquid) for my cold in the first trimester and it worked pretty well for me. She said that during the TWW I didn't need to alter my lifestyle at all (including alcohol and OTC drugs) as there was no blood-blood bond formed yet, so in that case I would have taken what I usually would take for a cold during the TWW.

hmm I did a post about this during early pregnancy - my doctor said nothing except vicks, humidifier, cough drops (recommended ricola, all natural). they did allow me to take sudafed but said they only recommend that in "horrible" situations, and don't generally recommend it for "general" use before the 12th week. I took it twice around week 7 because I wasn't getting any sleep or keeping anything down thanks to gagging.

ETA - my list is about the same as artbee. I lived on benadryl!

No advice, but I wanted to wish you good luck! Hubs and I got pregnant on a first try last summer and miscarried, so I know all of the crazy feelings and emotions that go along with that.

Im in my first two week wait following a miscarriage. I got pregnant on the first try the first time around so it seems likely that could happen again. I just got back from a vacation and I'm terribly sick with a head cold. Given the chance I could be pregnant I'm really nervous about taking any medicine. Is there any cold medicine people had their doctors suggest while pregnant or TTC? I feel silly calling my doctor with questions when I don't even know if I'm pregnant yet. I can't test until next weekend.
