@prettylizy: haha welllll considering it was my family that was sick - that option was out ;) and my family is my childcare :-P

thankfully I know a ton of homeschooled teenagers that are available during the day!

Ugh. My mom always watched G, but occasionally she'd have an appt she couldn't reschedule and I'd be in a tough spot. A couple of times I enlisted a friend from our Young Adults group and another a high schooler that served under DH. Times that I couldn't find anyone my mom would take G with her, or reschedule... I've never not had someone due to sickness though. =/

Panic!!! We'd probably call family and find out who is/isn't working, then take it day by day. My MIL is part time so she could fill in on a day she isn't working, my mom is a nurse so depending on shifts she could fill in. I'd probably end up taking a sick day here or there though.

How do you guys handle when your daycare provider(s) are unexpectedly unable to watch your child(ren)? My little brother is my nanny and my whole family has been out with the flu - we haven't had childcare this entire week and he'd wait until the day before to let me know... so it's been last minute trying to find someone!

My sick policy isn't as lenient as DH's, so he took Monday off, and then went in to teach his evening class once I got home. Wednesday we found a babysitter my mom recommended from her homeschool group and just now had to find a babysitter for tomorrow as well! It's been a rough week and I REALLY hope my brother is better by Monday!!

What do you do when your childcare falls through?
