@alohaorchid: DD and I were both diagnosed with bronchitis last week, your symptoms sound very similar to ours. DD is on the mend (finally after a week) but I still feel like shit, even with an antibiotic and some cough medicine.

I would go to a walk-in after work and try to nip it in the bud.

ETA: if you're in the GTA, you could try medvisit.ca - house calls!

@alohaorchid: Ah sorry about that...I am pretty sure that it's US based, but I would definitely head to a walk in clinic after work if you can. Whenever I start to feel hot and clammy, I know I have a fever. You know your body best, and if you feel like you're sick, get some care!

@2PeasinaPod: That sounds great. But it's probably not available in Canada, I'll check it out though!

I'm starting to think I should probably attempt a walk-in clinic after work, I'm asthmatic and have a history of simple illnesses turning into pneumonia. That's the last thing I need right now.

Do you have a smart phone? If so (and I get no benefit from this), you could try Doctor on Demand. It's $40/visit and it's a virtual doctor's visit. If they feel that you have something, they can write a script for you to the pharmacy that you use. Would save you a trip to the doctor. I believe they're available 8am-11pm local time.

Just a thought!

On Saturday just over a week ago (three days after we moved), I woke up with a horrible cough. I slept most of the day Saturday and Sunday and the cough got worse. Monday morning I woke up with the same cough and a bad sore throat. I'm really prone to strep throat and I was sure I was getting it.

Then, on Monday (I posted about this), my work did major layoffs, over 15% of our workforce. I kept my job, but it was still a horribly stressful, long and exhausting week. I was the main person who had to work on each and every termination and I got so busy that I kind of just forgot about feeling sick and it kind of went away.

This weekend I didn't feel too bad, but I did sleep more often than usual and simple things like walking up the stairs exhausted me. A couple of times throughout the weekend I sat down and ended up falling asleep without even realizing it until I woke up an hour later.

Today however, I feel horrible. I'm exhausted, I have a headache, my chest feels tight, and I'm hot. Like, really burning up hot and sweating.

Taking sick time isn't an option right now with all that's going on here, and my doctor is only available 10-2, so I can't make an appointment, which is the only reason why I'm posting here... Any experience with these kind of symptoms and any tips to feel better? TIA!
