I've got a 2 1/2 year old who is battling a cough, I've been doing humidifier and we play in the bathroom with the shower running, obviously not as long as she did when she was younger, but we will play the ipad or puzzles long enough to have some affect.

Warm tea/soup can be just as affective. My doc even suggested warm water/juice.

I do Vicks, I know some are against it but i think it helps. And Agave syrup/honey helps the cough.

Maybe you can turn on the shower to get the bathroom really steamy, lay out a towel on the floor and play with bath toys for an hour or so? Other than that, I would keep the humidifier going, and perhaps offer warmed, but not hot liquids.
I hope he feels better soon!

My toddler has a bad chest cold. Any ideas what to do? He is past the baby stage of just holding him in the shower or rocking him all afternoon. But he is too little for hot tea and chicken noodle soup. Any ideas for what is comforting at this age? I have the humidifier going.
