@Foodnerd81: hehe, that was very nice of the NP!

@KT326: the doctors I visited in FL used to have the missed appointment few signs everywhere, but the doctors/ staff in Georgia actually remind you. They don't play! I'm extra careful about scheduling appointments that work well for me.

We don't get charged for injections or weight checks since the nurse just does it real quick. But if the doctor had to see us again for a follow up appointment, then yes we pay.

@Foodnerd81: My OB/GYN is considered a specialist, it's so annoying to have to pay $50 every time I see him.

Yes, anytime we go in to see the doctor we have to pay our copay unless it is a well child checkup. Now we have to give at least 24 hour notice to change or cancel an appointment or we will be charged.

We didn't usually need the follow up visit after her ear infections and never had injections, but yes. Every visit aside from routine well visits had a copay. Even more annoying, our primary provider was actually a nurse practitioner and insurance charged a specialist copay instead of a pcp copay! Howvever she was super nice and would always peak in the big ones ears during the little ones well visits.

Does your Ped charge the sick visit fee even when you go in for follow up?

LO is getting antibiotic injections for his eighth ear infection. It's a 3 day treatment at $30/ visit. Today, his ears may have improved enough not to need the third injection, but I have to pony up the dough to make it out of the waiting room. At the rate we visit the doctor or urgent care we could put another LO in daycare for a month! Is your Ped like that too?
