Depends on your main....we like interesting salads with greens like spinach, arugula, chard, kale, bitter greens and topped with things like with avocado, nuts, dried fruit, goat cheese, etc.

Roasted veggies are so easy to prepare

Risotto is a side we have with roast chicken and pork chops

Sauteed onions and mushrooms with steak

Spicy green beans (quickly sautee up green beans in a hot skillet with olive oil, garlic powder and red pepper flakes

Small servings of pasta with a meat main

We love farro; its a whole grain with a nutty, rich flavor. Quinoa is good too.

Spicy cabbage salad: shredded cabbage with shredded carrots, onion, jalapeno, little lime juice, S&P

Black bean salad

Some things I make routinely are:

Potatoes: (mashed, baked, roasted, or cooked in a skillet with butter and rosemary)
Rice
Salad (my go to salad had tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado, and bell peppers in it)
Veggies: broccoli, green beans, Brussels sprouts, Lima beans, corn, peas. I usually steam the broccoli and cook the green beans and Brussels sprouts in a pan with butter, garlic, and onions.

A potato (mashed, baked), rice (cheesy broccoli), seasoned green beans, garlic breads with noodle dishes, fresh salad.

I think that is all I can come up with for now:)

I need some side dish ideas! When I make meals I usually add a veggie or roll on the side...but lately it's feeling repetitive. What are your side dishes normally?
