I kind of don't mind the morning feed/co-sleep, but Z is going through her 4 month sleep regression, which means that she has been waking up anywhere from 3am -5am. Much more co-sleeping than when she was waking at 6am and we would get an extra hour or two of sleep. Took us 17 weeks, but I can finally feed and nap a little while laying down instead of sitting up in the recliner. </p> <p>I've tried it in the past, but he just kept popping off. The other day I was laying on the couch on my back, he was having tummy time on my belly and got hungry, so I tried latching him and it worked! </p> <p>Usually on the couch I put him on the side closest to the back of the couch and lean that way just a little (keeps him from rolling off). Lay him belly down on my belly, along the leg on the side he is feeding on. The first month or two I would nurse DS where he was sitting up (literally he was vertical) because of his reflux, but as the back arching got worse I couldn't hold on to him and nurse. I've been doing it this way for 10+ months! Love it. I usually move myself and not DS when we switch sides and my arms are usually up because I'm surfing HB with my phone :). I can also nurse both breasts without switching myself or DS to the other side but that is more awkward. I would lay on my left side with my left arm under my head and turn LO slightly on his side, and he would latch on. I had huge breasts, so sometimes I had to hold my breast, or wedge something (try a diaper) underneath my breast so it doesn't fall out of his mouth. When I'm ready to switch sides, I actually get up and lay down on his other side, so that I don't really have to move him. It works much better than rolling with him - which I had done before and he really didn't like!</p> <p>@Rock n Roll: really? So I will lay on my left side and give my left boob. I would lay liv on her side, facing me, and hold her head with my free hand against the bed (so really she was laying on my hand, or it would support the back of her head.) I had to use no pillows. Id lay with my left arm bent and use my arm as a pillow. That helped with the angle. When she needed to switch, I climed over her to the other side and gently rolled her over. She usually stayed asleep because Id cuddle her close in the transfer. So even if she did wake, she'd be like "sa-weet. Snuggles (thats what I imagine her thinking anyways)" and fall back to sleep. Eventually she got old enough to lay on her side unsupported and hold on to my boob while she nursed. that or she would lay on her back with her head turned to the side.</p> <p>Keep trying it. It took me awhile to get. It always felt so awkward, but one day it kinda just clicked. It didnt do that until she was a little older.
