@Foodnerd81: I just poke holes with a fork and put them on a plate. My microwave has a potato setting but I usually check o. Them after 6-7 minutes

We always have got brown rice in our rice cooker (it has a keep warm setting) and I buy large bags of organic mixed veggies (peas, corn, carrots, green beans, edamame) from Costco. I can usually just bang that out or do a salad with bread. If you keep rolls or baguettes in the freezer you can toast them up pretty quick. Otherwise, I will boil up some noodles and toss them in olive oil the night before and reheat them the next day.

For something like that I'd do rice and a green veggie. Broccoli steams really fast, or frozen peas or something!

@youboots: oh yeah- salad is my obvious go to but it's cold! Warm food is nicer. Good ideas.

What type of sides do you usually do when you do a meat in the slow cooker?

I'm making the skinnytaste maple Dijon chicken drumsticks this week. Trying to decide on sides since the beauty of the slow cooker is I don't have to turn on the over or cook anything at dinner time.
