Wagon Sr. was home for almost 5 weeks when Wagon Jr. was born!!! It was heaven. We were like an amazing tag team. When he went back it sucked. I made him come home early so many times. I was so bad!! This time around he'll be home for 2 weeks.

Aw, I hope your first day DH-less goes well, too! I don't even want to think about the mess I'll be when hubs goes back to work. The baby isn't even here yet and I'm already stressing about it.

We get paid family care leave here in CA (55%), so hubs is supplementing that with his accrued PTO and will be taking off 4 weeks. After he goes back to work, my mom (who lives about 15 minutes away) will be here during the day to help out.

"She slept well last night, huh?" - too funny! We don't get paternity leave, but I'm sure my parents will be with me the first couple of weeks and my MIL is awesome at making me food now and I'm not even preggo yet (she also lives 1.5 hours away).

Wishing you and Baby M have a great day and that baby M will be "nice" to you. hehe.

I hope your day goes well!!!

I am not pregnant but we've talked about it and I'll have help for 4 weeks after giving birth bc my mom will come for 2 weeks and then DH will be off for 2 weeks. I can imagine it will be hard when I am finally by myself!

I've certainly spent a lot of time crying and frustrated since DH went back to work. It's hard taking care ofa fussy baby all day! Try to get a nap and get outside at least once, even if it's just to walk to the mailbox.

Awwww, sorry to hear that!
I cried a lot. :-( DH was doing a week of overnight shifts as his welcome back to work gift. I was really worried about dealing with a newborn 24 hours a day so we arranged for my brother to stay with us for a week. My bro helped with the dog, picked up meals, went to Costco, grocery store, cleaned up and did laundry. After that week, DH went back to more normal shifts and my C section incision was finally good enough for me to move around!

@winniebee: haha. I just need a nap!! :) Hopefully I'll get motivated to spend some time folding laundry later. It's been sitting for a while now. It got moved from the laundry room to our bedroom. That was my big accomplishment of the past two weeks. :)

Awww! This was a tough day for me too after DH was home for 12 days after LO's birth. To help, I caught up on bad TV'/DVR while I was nursing and while baby was sleeping tried to nap or raced around the house putting in laundry or eating lunch or showering. You will be in a groove soon enough!!

@Andrea: oh my. I can't imagine not having any help at all.

My Dad didn't take any time off with my brother or me either. At least in that case, my Mom had family to help, as needed. I know I'm lucky to have had him home for 2 weeks. Especially that first week when just getting off the couch was painful.

@rubies: I won't let myself think about it so I don't cry. I cried a few days ago just thinking about the fact that he had to go back!!

Hubs was with me for 2 weeks, too, and I cried and cried when he went back. I had such a hard time by myself but it got better as time went on.

DH didn't take any time off so he went back to work the day after I got back from the hospital. My parents were around for 2 weeks, though!

I hope your first day alone with the LO will be a-OK!!

After two weeks at home with M and me, hubs went back to work today. He was such a big help while he was home. He made meals, brought me food and water while feeding and grabbed M during the really fussy nights. He also ran errands and went grocery shopping. Last night was tough but I let him sleep knowing he had to get up early. He said to me this morning, "She slept well last night, huh?" Uh, no but you did! :)

Of course, today I've got a fussy-butt baby on my hands but, we'll deal. I do miss having a personal butler on hand!! This weekend, we prepared the kitchen so I have plenty of easy to eat foods available to me since I don't see myself cooking anything. Sandwiches for everyone!!

How did you deal with your so going back to work and leaving you home with the lo?
