i don't see why not. LO can't say "please" so i taught her how to sign it so she at least knows she's supposed to say it when asking for something.

If it was me, I probably wouldn't actively pursue it! If you feel like she's able to communicate well with you verbally (or with any signs she's just naturally picked up), then I don't see the need to try to teacher more signing! I wouldn't discourage or encourage it, if that makes sense!

Brennan will sign and say the word at the same time. I think it's adorable.

The only new one that I have taught P recently is "please" because she can be a little demanding when she is signing "milk", "eat", or "more". So, now if she is demanding something (by saying and signing it) she now knows that she needs to say please and will say and sign it.

But, I don't see any issue with learning signs, too. why not? :)

I see no problem with continuing it if you want to. There are a few signs I would like M to know but won't pressure her into knowing them. I would think it would be good for her to keep it up so she can help her sibling someday learn sign language, right? :)

DH's cousin works at LO's daycare but in the older kids room. She has always come grab her for music/singing time in the big kid's room. While they do music/singing time she also signs a bit. I guess just from this LO has been picking up signing. She learned to sign more and please. DH's cousin told us that LO communicates a lot at daycare via signing. She asked if we wanted to borrow a book she has on signing.

I'm a little conflicted because LO is actually rapidly adding to her vocabulary. At this point she knows more words than signs; to my knowledge.

What would you do? Would you pursue signing at this point? She's almost 17 months and I don't really feel any frustration on either side on communication to be honest.
