@avivoca: We filled out pre-admittance stuff and there was still lots to sign. I was just like yup, whatevs to everything until they got to the tubes tied part, then I was like ummm....shouldn't we have discussed this prior to being in the hospital having contractions. It doesn't seem like a great time to be making those kinds of decisions.

I had filled out a bunch of paperwork beforehand, but they lost it! They were asking me questions during contractions and I was like, "ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME???"

They tried but when I got to the hospital I was already pushing do I was just like "Nope!" I wasn't about to sign anything without reading it in detail anyway, so I just said no. There was t much they could do about it at that point.

We were pre-registered, but I remember having to sign what seemed like 20 forms when we got there. No one believed I was as far along as I was, so they were taking their sweet time.

We did a majority of our paperwork pre-admittance, but stuff for like epidurals and other information was signed by DH. They told me the jist of it, but explained in detail to DH and had him sign off while I labored.

Yes, signing stuff hooked up to IVs is super fun.

We were preregistered, but I remember having to sign consent forms for the epidural and anything extra if I ended up needing a c-section. I have no idea what was on the forms, and in retrospect I feel weird about it too. The anesthesiologist was telling me what was on them, but I didn't pay any attention. D and my mom were both listening, though, and I just trusted that if they heard anything unusual that they would speak up. But I still don't know what was ACTUALLY written.

Yes! Though I'm pretty sure the only form I had to read & sign was to get the epi.

I was in very active labor when I got to the hospital and still had to sign at least 6 papers in between contractions! The nurse was very patient :) This was even after pre-registering!

I had all my forms filled out before, and then when I got there they asked abotu epi, and I knew I wanted one so that was easy. however, I wasn't in labor I was being induced, so I was of a clear mind.

Oh yeah...right here. They made me watch a video on epis and sign a million different things before they would administer mine. I had zero interest in what any of it meant...I just wanted relief!

Both times when we got to the hospital I was in quite a bit of pain and having contractions really close together.
I signed a lot of forms and felt like I have no idea what I'm signing and don't care, which kind of made me feel a little weird.

The nurse was also asking me verbal questions to fill out forms. One of the questions threw me off 'Do you want your tubes tied?' I said no but was thinking no one ever went over this with me at any of my prenatal visits, would they really have taken my painful labor consent where I only felt half with it if I had said yes?

We filled out some pre-admittance paper work both times but the majority was still once we got there. Anyone else feel weird filling out and signing forms while they were having contractions.
