I've really been wanting to keep this whole process really fun for my husband. While I've been keeping track of everything, he has no clue, haha ... I mean, he knows I'm keeping track, but I'm sure he's clueless about 'what' I'm actually monitoring. I am a vegetarian, and my husband has been eating no meat while trying to conceive. Not really to increase our chances ... but I want a 'meat free' baby. I also lay with my hips elevated for a bit after BD. That's about it.

@Mrs.VW: Nope, I wasn't worried about it getting stuck. I got really knowledgeable about where my cervix was and how to unsuction it. I kept it in overnight and would remove it in the morning. I always felt comfortable with it.

@Happygal: Diva cup might not be as effective as Instead Cup. The Instead Cup sits up close to cervix keeping the sperm nearby. The Diva Cup is funnel shaped, so the sperm pools down the same way it would for menstruation. The Instead Cup is gross to handle post sex because it's been spread out on the surface of it. I used it for two months and got pregnant on the second month of use.

@Cascademom---ooooh. I bought a DivaCup to try out, but haven't been using it regularly. I like that it takes the pressure off of looking at the clock and trying to decide if I've been laying still long enough. But putting it in after BD is very unromantic, so I'm lazy about it.

@Happygal: aligning with traditional Chinese medicine principles basically - there's a lot of lifestyle guidelines to do with exercise, diet and sleep (not so different to Western medicine) that you can do before taking herbs.

@alayaya: I tried pineapple core to aid with implantation! The one month I didn't get round to having any was the month I got my sticky (so far!) baby. So if you really hate it, I wouldn't worry too much!!

The amount of time observing and worrying about my CM. I guess it's the one external sign of fertility, so I find myself checking on that regularly. Definitely silly feeling!

@alayaya: If nothing else, does it help you relax? That sounds nice.

@Sweetmamam: I've been interested in acupuncture. What does it mean to get your lifestyle aligned? Aligning with what?

@Mrs.Someone: I've started having it in my green smoothies and that's alright. Just the maca powder, no other herbs from acupuncturist yet. She's focusing on getting my lifestyle aligned before adding other things in.

@alie: Nice to hear that someone else around here has done it too! Oddly, I kindof like the burnt smell of the "cigar". The acupuncturist uses the smoky mugwart when I'm there though.

@alayaya: Don't feel too silly, I totally get it :) I think the warming stuff definitely couldn't hurt!

@SweetMamaM: Maybe try mixing the powder into applesauce? And does your acupuncturist have you on any herbs? I think thats what helped me finally get my BFP (even though it was my other issues that caused the m/c).

I'm doing acupuncture and about 80% paleo diet but my latest weapon in my TTC arsenal is maca powder. I feel better for taking it but it tastes like turnips. I had it in a hot chocolate to hide the taste - it tasted like chocolate turnips. Bleck.

hmm.... I've never heard of that!

I can't say that I've done too many silly things. I have been using my hot water bottle a lot this cycle because I'm worried I have a "cold uterus." This also means I've been avoiding cold drinks and wearing socks to bed most nights. I guess that is kind of silly.

I cut out caffeine completely, even though doctors say not to worry about it. I also started drinking red raspberry leaf tea. I thought about trying pineapple core, but I hate pineapple.

I did the moxibustion, too! But only once. I could not handle the smell (mine wasn't charcoal, it was mugwort). I still have a giant, partially-burned moxa cigar hanging out in my closet, in case I'm ever tempted to try it again in the future. But I don't know if I will.... I also felt ridiculous doing it :)

I had a moment today of feeling silly in my TTC adventures. My acupuncturist has me doing moxibustion on myself to help boost progesterone. Its basically a stick of charcoal that you burn on the end and hold up to specific pressure points until the skin is pink. I trust her judgement and am following directions, but it seems silly :)

What do you do to TTC that you feels silly?
