I would get a single pump that can be battery operated. Its perfect if you go out and need to pump in the car.

Double pump at work and get an inexpensive single pump for home if you will even need it, really. Are you thinking electric or manual? I'd say either way OK....

I would get the single. I only use the double pump at work. At home I almost alway just pump on one side. Unless you are planning on going out for long periods of time, I don't think you need it.

Since you have access to one at work, I'd say you don't even need one---I wish I had bought a cheap hand pump not an electric one (single).
Maybe when I am back at work I'll wish I had a double, but I won't have the money for it anyway.

Hive, I need your expert advice! Our son is due in January, and my hope is that breastfeeding will go well and I will be able to breasfeed for his first 9-12 months. I will be home for 12 weeks of maternity, then returning to work full time. I work in a hospital with a huge maternity department, and will have access to a hospital-grade pump (just have to buy my own tubing, etc). I'm considering what pump to get for home use (and the occasional weekend trips to our parents'). Would a single be sufficient, since I will most likely just be pumping at home once or twice a day, or should I just go all-in with the double?
