Update: I feel better this morning (well, relatively, in that I can sit and stand upright).

DH ended up getting me nasalcrom instead of flonase. I looked it up and it's only category B, so I'm going to try it for a while before giving in to steroid sprays.

I had peppermint tea and put peppermint oil on my temples before bed and I don't know if that helped, or if I really just needed sleep. Of course the peppermint tea made my heartburn worse though! If it's not one thing, it's another!

@Foodnerd81: thanks for the link back. I knew I'd seen something, but it didn't come up in my search.

Looking for my peppermint oil next!

I felt better enough to leave the couch after a cup of tea this morning, but of course it didn't last long.

Unless I'm magically better tomorrow I'll probably call the nurses line too. I'd love to hear what your MW suggests and I'll let you know what mine says.

I had a similar post a few weeks back that I will link here, because people had some helpful ideas: http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/help-for-sinus-headaches-while-pregnant#post-2225914.

Unfortunately of what I've tried it's only touching my pain. The headache went away for a few days after a posted but it's been back this weekend. Yesterday I had a full on migraine with aura (I get blocked spots in my vision). And Tylenol helps a little but I'm really worried about how much I'm taking. I'm also in the second trimester.

The thing that has actually helped most is taking a Tylenol with a small can of regular coke (I got the little mini size which seems perfect). Caffeine usually keeps me up at night but I had some last night at dinner and slept ok.

However I'm going to ask my midwife this week at my appt because this is too bad and heat and ice aren't helping nearly enough. Last time they hadn't recommended sudafed while pregnant, but I want to know how that risk is compared to daily Tylenol. Sudafed used to work really well for my sinus headaches (the kind behind the counter in the U.S.).

I hope you find some relief and get some more good ideas here. I'll let you know if my midwife has any advice

If you have/had horrible sinus headaches, how did you treat them?

Tylenol doesn't touch the pain. I've done sinus rinses. I don't think I'm congested (just swollen), so that's not really helping. Plus it's up in my head so far the rinse doesn't touch it.

Heat and cold packs help, but only for a little bit.

I tried sudafed, but it kept me from sleeping and then I got a headache from being tired.

Help!

I've had chronic sinus issues and had surgery to widen them, but now I feel like I never had the surgery. It's been pretty much daily for the last week, and today has been the worst.

I've been sleeping with nose strips, that helped at first. I sent DH for Flonase and vapor rub. Any other suggestions?

I'm in my second tri and my doctor said some Advil "should" be ok, but I don't like his use of the word should...
