LO does that with straw cups. She drinks so fast, and the flow gets too crazy for her sometimes. She never used a sippy.

We are having the same drama right now too! DS likes the kind of sippy cups DD uses, but it comes out too fast and I can't give him the cup because it spills too easy, But, any of the cups that you really have to suck to get anything out, he gives up on! He does great with straws, but I can't give him a cup with a straw without me being right there. I'm just hoping he figures out to not turn the cups upside down.

We just started trying a straw cup tonight. He did okay, but he kept trying to lift it up like he has to with a regular sippy cup. I think a straw may help once he gets the hang of it!

Have you tried a cup with a straw? My LO#1 hated dippy cups and was a very messy cup drinker until recently but he ROCKED the straw.

DS has drank water out of a sippy cup since he was 6 months old and he just turned 1 last week. We are transitioning from nursing and bottles to a cup. DS drinks milk from a cup BUT he makes a big mess most of the time. Its almost like he drinks so fast that he doesn't swallow everything when he goes to take a breath and milk comes out everywhere. He did this some with water but I didn't take too much notice too to it. Doing it with breast milk is a little grosser to me.

Any tips? I am trying different cups but he still does it and I am not sure what to do!
